For this very special release, Anchor Bay went back to the vaults to present this legendary terror classic as never before, including creating an all-new HD transfer personally supervised by the film's original cinematographer, Academy-Award® nominee Dean Cundey (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Apollo 13, the Back to the Future trilogy), a new 7.1 audio mix (as well as the original mono audio), a brand-new feature length audio commentary by writer/director John Carpenter and star Jamie Lee Curtis, an all-new bonus feature with Ms. Curtis, as well as selected legacy bonus features from previous ABE releases. Available in a collectible limited-edition steelbook package.

Thanks for confirming that. So this surely means they chose to have it black instead of having any artwork, very strange choice.

Yeah it would have been nice with proper inside artwork. I'm guessing it's a little cheaper to just make it all black though than create an artwork.

Agreed its a strange choice and a shame there is no inside artwork but its still a really nice looking steelbook. The only other steel I have like this with black interior is Rise Of The Footsoldier.

I might be making my first complaint to amazon on Monday! Paid for 1st class delivery, estimated delivery says Monday 21 but not even dispatched yet! Very poor from amazon!

Don't panic just yet I have had stuff dispatched on a Sunday before and still arrived on the Monday, though they have sent it parcelforce 24.

I had that before with Amazon
My order for 28 Days Steelbook
was dispatched on 5Th

It did not arrive until Friday 11th

Royal Mail 24 sticker on it :hilarious:

24 works ok for UK but don't expect 24 hours delivery if your outside of the UK
Funny part is I would have got delivery quicker if they had not used 24

Back to the steelbook I had my copy dispatch from Zavvi on Wed so I should have it on Mon or Tue

Yeh, the last time i got something from amazon there was a delay in the postage of it so they sent me an email to say sorry for the delay in posting but it will not effect the estimated delivery date... So even if amazon have to ship it via a faster method and pay themselves, it will be there on monday. And if it isnt, then there has genuinly been a mistake made on amazons part and they will compensate ;)

Probably worth checking the definition of "estimated" before you complain.

Yeah I know what "estimated" means mate and I know that 1st class doesn't guarantee it being With me on release day, but with a estimated date of Monday 21st I at least expect shipment to be made by today the latest to even stand a chance of meeting that estimation.

I received a dispatch email for my copy of Lifeforce last Sunday at 16:52 and guess what, it arrived the next day as promised. In any case Amazon are known for their slow dispatch times on pre-orders, so it probably wasn't the best decision to pre-order from them if you wanted it by release day.

amazon's attitude to delivery times sure does leave a lot to be desired, which is why, if their prices are competitive with amazon's, i have started favouring zavvi. my copy of halloween arrived this morning. glad i cancelled and reordered with zavvi on wednesday!!!

I was waiting on an unboxing before making a decision. Thanks Paul, order now placed.

Initially wasn't too impressed with the news of no inside artwork, but after seeing that inky black interior and that glorious all black spine (there can't be many retail steels with no logo's of any kind on the spine?) it looks great.

Looks good carnt wait if amazon actually get round to sending mine amazon prime which they havent yet i think an email will be going in for a refund of some sort.
