For this very special release, Anchor Bay went back to the vaults to present this legendary terror classic as never before, including creating an all-new HD transfer personally supervised by the film's original cinematographer, Academy-Award® nominee Dean Cundey (Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Apollo 13, the Back to the Future trilogy), a new 7.1 audio mix (as well as the original mono audio), a brand-new feature length audio commentary by writer/director John Carpenter and star Jamie Lee Curtis, an all-new bonus feature with Ms. Curtis, as well as selected legacy bonus features from previous ABE releases. Available in a collectible limited-edition steelbook package.

It looks really nice in person, the black suits it perfectly with a subtle shiny effect on the knife blade depending on how you hold it up to the light.

Very much a case of less is more with this one. Very pleased :)

Just recieved from sainsburys. Michael Myers signed copy of Halloween

Well got mine from Amazon this morning in pristine condition , god knows how as it arrived in a thin card mailer and not the usual frustration free boxes !!
Hope this ain't a new Amazon trend as my Predator Trilogy from France arrived in the same thin mailer 2 weeks ago.

got my copy today and this steel is excellent for the money, just looking at the transfer and audio now its incredible for a movie of this age.

Got mine today from Sainsbury's... nice dent on the back, was under the j card. :(

Steelbook is very good for the money, new transfer, disc extras and a booklet. Great release imo :scat:... only downside is the freebie dent lol

You got me curious now.... why in your opinion is it not worth £12? :)

I am a big fan if the movie but the reviews for the transfer have not been amazing and I just wasn't that impressed with the art to be honest and the fact that I have bought the movie so man times before doesn't help.
I'll still pick it up but only for around £8.

from your experiences, what's your guesses on how many copies of this steelbook were made? did starz/anchor bay release steelbooks before?
do you guys see this one selling out fast, or increase in price, or do you think there will be special price offers after halloween (the real one) or on "black friday/cyber monday"?

i'm asking because i ordered the usa digibook a week ago, and rather tempted to double dip at the current price, but do not want to see this drop to 8.99GBP the days after i ordered.

thanks for any suggestions and help. :)

watched this tonight.....
picture quality excellent, bordering on superb in places!!

Either you received a different disc from me or I need to borrow some of your weed before watching again. :scat:

I understand everyone has their own opinion and is entitled to it but I found the transfer to be mediocre and rather poor and for once, the experts at High Def Digest agreed with me.
