Response from ES about the finish they are going for on this release:

There’s an emboss on the title treatment, gloss varnish on the front, cutting out the characters and a dull varnish covering the back.

The red text and red image on the back is also a pantone red, which should be a bright pillar box red.

Firstly, ES would have kept at least 100 or more aside in case of defects like JR, possibly a lot more.

Seriously doubt they would have listed all in one hit, unless someone who ordered really early today checked stock levels and can verify how many were available to begin with.

i reckon scalpers have been on the prowl here like 1000 copies to the UK in just over 12 hours

thats some amazing selling if everyone only has 1 or 2 copies

It is expensive but the amaray is £18 in most places. Blu rays are just more expensive these days. Maybe Paramount are just taking the piss?

If youre happy to pay it, do so, if not dont! I didnt get Jack Reacher but subsequently ordered the French version anyway. Im sure this will appear elsewhere so if you just want the actual steel and to watch the film im sure the option will be somewhere in Europe!

I checked stock an hour after it had been up for pre-order and I can't remember the figure but it was well over 700. Then somebody else checked after another hour and it was down to 628.

No doubt they've kept back a % for replacements etc, but it does seem as though all the available stock was listed today.

I'm suprised this sold out so quick but this is great news for ES. 2nd exclusive and 2nd sell out.

And with the described finish I can see this being even nicer than Jack reacher. ES is my new favourite retailer

Wreck should talk to ES and get them to limit these (1-2) per customer like Amazon did with Skyfall.

This will make it fair for all as it appears this is going to be a future trend with ES to release 1K print run Steelbooks and selling out in a day or so.
