Response from ES about the finish they are going for on this release:
There’s an emboss on the title treatment, gloss varnish on the front, cutting out the characters and a dull varnish covering the back.

The red text and red image on the back is also a pantone red, which should be a bright pillar box red.

Im pretty sure its only a few select "lucky" customers such as me who have been charged early! Had to suck it up and be short for the month as im not cancelling my order

I pray they both turn up mint....

I suspect that payments are being rolled out over the course of this week. Play and Zavvi both do this quite often, taking payments and dispatching items at different times throughout the week, I don't know if it's easier to stagger it like this or whether there's some other logical reason as to why they do this. I think it's only the 2 GB hosts (myself and CC) who really need to worry, because our orders alone are worth over £800.

Sorry for going off topic, mods. But this talk is pertinent to this release and if you delete these posts I fear that members who may not already be up to date on the payment situation may end up missing out on this info.

Bud, I'm sure there is no need to panic just yet. I can see how it could cause issues if they charged that many orders without funds in your account, but from that email they sent round it sounds like it was just a glitch and only a handful of people have been charged.

Could be any number of reasons for this but it definitely sounds like it lies at Play's end. I had my order charged too but I got in there very early after the link went up (to the point I set this thread up while I was ordering). Most systems will process orders and charge systematically so depending on the time you ordered you probably either have or haven't been charged. Given that you haven't been charged I would say you are safe.

The other thing to try and reassure you is that there haven't been hundreds of posts with different people complaining about being charged. Probably means it's very isolated.

I can't say for definite, but those are my thoughts ;)

You could be right, but given that I've got 30 GB members relying on me sourcing a copy for them, I'm taking precautions by requesting payments now. That way if they do charge me early at least everyone will get their copy.

As far as I'm concerned, there has been a glitch...ES are now aware of it and are sending out those emails. They must have been in touch with play.com so I'm pretty confident that there should be no more instances of cards being charged early.

They have to make sure it doesn't happen again...to be taking money for orders that aren't due for release until almost 2 months time is unacceptable.

Just a note for anyone about to complain about ES. The money side of things is strictly down to PLAY, nothing at all to do with ES.

I put 999 in my cart and it updated. Isn't there a thing y'all do that when you do that it shows the amount that they have in stock? Or am I crazy

My order for this has just been declined despite it not being out for over a month and my card details being exactly the same stored details as I used to buy multiple items in the last few weeks on play. So my order is now gone. This stinks of inept selling, I know there was nothing wrong with my card details and plenty of money in my bank and this item shouldn't have been taken for another month. Well done to anyone that managed to pick up my falesly declined copy :(

Don't hold out any hope for my copy of GI Joe...

If anyone has a spare slot for this could they please help a fellow ninja out :( :(
