any reasons why this seems to be more sought after than the other steels of the uk premium collection (sherlock holmes, se7en, matrix,...)?

i'm waiting for the 9.99,-price @zavvi, then i will place my order (last week i thought it will definitely drop to 8 or 9 GBP soon, but it's 30.99€ at zavvi.nl right now...).

It was for sale last week £9.99
It then went back up to £12.99

This sold a lot when it was first released I would get this now as the stock level would be low
Heat is a very popular Film
Al Pacino Robert De Niro
Michael Mann

Its available from Zavvi €16.19 Euro

yeh its an interesting shift in pricing and attitude toward pricing. when i looked through the posts early on in this thread, people were anticipating that it would cost £10 on release. nowadays people anticipate releases costing twice as much!

---------- Post added at 11:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:01 PM ----------

I'm not sure what makes these 'premium' - I've not looked into whether the other premiums were multi-disc releases or what - but that will go into deciding the price.

I think around 10.99 would probably be accurate.

people simply dont say this anymore lol

this was the first of this wave to sell out so-at one point-copies were trading for £45-50! then more stock was found/pressed/magicked into existence and everyone cut their prices back

This won't be around forever though...

Couldn't agree more, not better than Heat imo but two totally different films for me...love Manhunter...color palette to lead actor's insidious creepiness. High time for quality Steelbook, imo.

Sadly this movie is slowly moving down my list of Mann's favorites. It was at the top, followed by Collateral and Last of the Mohicans. Now, I am re-watching Collateral, Manhunter and LotM more than Heat. From my watching, the nightclub scene in Collateral is an improved evolution of that main street shootout in Heat maybe because of the complexity of capturing those tense moments within a confined arena.

Nonetheless, Heat is a legendary movie that deserves this SteelBook treatment and a place in every collector's and movie lover's library.

hello guys, wasn't sure where to post this, and I know this thread is old but, I just bought a used copy of this steelbook, for about half what a sealed is worth now on the market. Look at the spine, anyone experienced this before?

looks like the spine wasn't printed how it should have xD

sadly, the pictures weren't showing the spine, and as everything else was perfect, I didn't bother to ask. But I guess it's ok in the end, since it wasn't expansive.

Yeah, seen that before on other Steels...Spine misprints...to far down, not centred and so on...It's going to stick out if placed on a shelf with the spine showing.

ok thanks for your reply :) I don't have the biggest collection, around 40 steelbooks, and this is the 1st time I see something like this. I agree with you, this is ugly, but for now, I will keep it I think, unless I can find an other cheap one.
