Steelbook & Collecting FAQ's:

Q: Where can I find a list of Steelbooks released?

A: blu-raysteelbooks.com

Q: Can I play movies contained inside Steelbooks on my Blu-Ray Player?

A: It depends-Blu-Rays are coded with Region A, B or C. Most Blu-Rays are "unlocked", regardless of what region they are, but it's always a good idea to check this forum or web resources before buying, as some are "locked".

Q: What are the differences between Steelbooks™, Iron Packs™, Metal Paks™, Viva Metal Boxes, Tins, etc?

A: Check out pics and discussion in our forum here

Q: What does "G1" and "G2" mean when discussing Steelbooks?

A: "G1" (1st Generation) refers to a Blu-Ray in a DVD-sized case. And "G2" (2nd Generation) refers to a Blu-Ray in a Blu-Ray-sized case.

Q: How to fix a loose disc on a steelbook you want to keep factory sealed that came with a floater?

A: Fixing a loose disc

Q: How do I navigate international shopping sites?

A: You can download a free 'add on' for most browsers called 'Google Translate'. Once you have it installed, the pages will translate automatically.

Q: I have many more questions-is there a general list of links to help me learn about Steelbooks, protecting them, etc?

A: Yes, here

Does anyone know how long HMV (UK) take to process returns, I can't remember if I've had to return anything to them before and how long it took them.

I think you can report sellers who do that type of thing. It's obviously so that they appear in searches more prominently. If you're selling an item which isn't that popular, then use keywords of more popular items so you'll appear in those searches. It's an annoying practice and one you should definetely report if you see.

Thanks for the free publicity :D

Can't blame a guy for trying though ;)

Usually not bad but with this temporary warehouse could be longer. New one is going to be in Birmingham. Offshoring is no longer a tax benefit so that's why their prices on website will move to be more like those in store.

As soon as I saw the "coo" in the eBay name you sprung to mind mate, but I doubted that it'd actually be you... how wrong was I?! I'm disappointed in you Matt. :( :p

Seriously though... your post gave me a good laugh. :)

Is anyone familiar with Amazon.es and their shipping to the US? I had a package that was supposed to be delivered by June 28 according to them, but there's no sign of it yet. For some reason they sent it without tracking, so I can't trace it. Should I be worried?

Does it say how they shipped it? A lot of the European amazons ship out of the same warehouse, so usually they go the same way and that's DHL Global Mail.

So it arrives in the US via DHL, but gets transferred over to the USPS somewhere along the way.

Before it can do that though, it's gotta get cleared through customs - and sometimes items are at the back of the shipping container - so your item might be already here but it's not processed yet.

That being said, I wouldn't get really concerned until the 20th if it still hasn't shown up.

If it goes missing, Amazon has a blanket policy to ship you out a replacement, no questions asked...

If I purchase steelbooks from Amazon.ca as one order sent to the UK, will they send them all together? Will they be packed in a cardboard box? The reason I ask is that when ordering seperate steels, they always come in rubbish jiffy bags, i'd rather pay a bit more to get them in a box.
