Well i think that last post sums Zavvi up perfectly!!!!

"You're only our customer,,,,so we don't give a **** about you!!!!"

I think we can safely assume that Zavvi have a real problem with StudioCanal & Lionsgate...and Zavvi have just put up Sleepy Hollow on page 1 of the pre-orders, a StudioCanal release!!!! what an absolute farce!!!

Zavvi - worst internet company ever!!!!

I think it might be StudioCanal & Lionsgate in lockdown with the steelbook manufacturers!!! after the abysmal ****-up's with The Imitation Game & Mockingjay!!! Quality control seems to have been tossed out the window...when you are supposedly paying 20 odd quid for a premium product that's what you would expect to receive!!! I do wish Zavvi would put some sort of statement out!!! It's totally unacceptable that they just ignore all our e-mails and questions!!! what goes around comes around Zavvi!!!!:thumbs:
I do enjoy your rants..:D

This was the response from my FB inquiry.

Hello Richard, Thank you for getting in touch to ask about the estimated dispatch of Horns - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook [Blu-ray] . I am really sorry that this has not yet been dispatched. The item is on special order for you with our supplier but at this time they are unable to give me a date for when they will have it back in stock. In the meantime our buyers are trying to obtain this for you from other suppliers. You can check the status of your order at any time by logging into your account and following the prompts. Once your order has been sent you will receive an e-mail to tell you it is on its way. If there is anything else that we can do, then please do not hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to help. Kind regards, Kieran

Typical, exactly the same generic copy and paste answer everyones been getting. I've chased this and '71 and will update as I get a reply as well, although I may as well just copy your answer now and be done with it.

Well I managed to get a little bit more than the standard reply on Twitter after bugging them for a bit:
So when asking them about an issue for LG & SC steels I got the following answer:
"It's something we are currently looking into."
I have replied and will let you know if I hear anything better.

That was the first answer I got on FB

Well I just got a payment problem email from Zavvi, for Horns and Paddington. Does this mean they are actually getting ready to ship? They have the listing back up as well

Yeah this was defo not out of stock, my guess they changed it to sold out due to either their out of date systems and as they hadn't sent any out at the time they changed it to sold out. Or the possible theories with lionsgate and studio canal. I Had this for £16 pre ordered but my account was locked and supposedly deleted so they kinda did me a favour aswel as my card expiring. I'll just get on a big ol price drop, but although my account was apparently deleted I just got a payment problem for that account for paddington (So I suppose ill get a payment problem for this soon) which again I was supposed to cancel anyway and will get that too on a big ol price drop

Zavvi do this always when they don't get delivery of stock by original release date
If the supplier has not delivered stock they list a release as sold out until they get delivery and then re list as available

It has happened before
This happens with every Second Sight Release
With Second Sight its due to missing the cut of date for pre orders (Zavvi always miss the cut of date) and they have to wait until after release date to re submit the order and because of this they temporally list as sold out until stock arrives and then after shipping existing orders they re list as available

Its also possible these 3 reasons are the delay or a combination of all 3

1)Zavvi missed the cut of date for payment and when the payment is made the studio release the stock
This has happened before its noting new it happens with lots of retailers who missed making the payment or the credit limit has been breached and a studio wont release stock until credit is back within its allowed limit

2)It also not unusual for a distributor also to have credit problems and they are late with the company making the steelbooks and this causes stock been held until payment is made which results in the retailer not getting the stock on time for release date
The retailer is then waiting until the distributor gets the stock

3)Steelbooks are different to standard Amaray Blu-ray Releases as its different manufacture who is supplying the steelbook case
There might be promotion copies around but not enough to supply a bulk order
So you can see a Amaray Blu-ray get released on time but the steelbook is delayed for a number of reasons and after the delay stock is delivered to the distributor and then the retailer
This is also the reason why release dates get changed

I say though its more to do with this
With a lot of Zavvi listings when they have not got stock in time to meet existing pre orders by release date they list as sold out until stock is delivered and then when stock check is done re list if stock is available or if its still available with the distributor
This time it has happened with a few more releases than usual at the same time and is more noticeable

I will get the steelbook at a later stage when the price drops

I've just finished watching this and I have to say, it blew me away. Phenomenal work from Alexandre Aja & Daniel Radcliffe. Very unique style, dark, twisted, funny, smart metaphors and a great storyline. Think I'm gonna have to hunt down the novel. While I appreciate that it's not to everybodys taste it's a pity you couldn't get into this @BluSteel2012 I saw your post a while back where you mentioned that it was all over the place and was far too long. I agree about the running time, 15-20 mins could have been axed, but I loved it.

I'm a huge fan of all Aja's previous work (yes, even the fun Piranha 3D) when I saw the trailer for this it didn't really register on my radar, I thought that it looked fun but not great and that i'd eventually get around to a viewing. I'm so glad that I did as it really was the most unique film I've seen since Byzantium.

Loving those glossy pics a few posts back. I don't care about that high price, I simply cannot afford for this to sell out after everyone sees how great it is in-hand. I've just slapped a quick VOUCH5 on it and placed my order.

Now when it arrives I need to get the wife to watch this (she thinks it looks ridiculous and can't shake the Harry Potter stigma from it) :D

I thought and did the same as you it was a pleasent suprise watching this to say the least.
If you have a The Works bookshop you can get the book for about £3 - £4, still reading it at the moment better than the film so far

Glad you enjoyed it mate.

I'm a big fan of Aja's previous work also (even P2 where he wrote the screenplay and produced!) but this just didn't do it for me. Especially as I had hot anticipation for it.

I don't think the 'funny' parts work at all (don't get me started on the 2 cops, I just thought that was downright silly-like a scene from a Seth Rogen picture!! And what's with the box of doughnuts near the start?) I'm not sure Radcliffe suited the part either.

If it drops significantly in price, I might give it another go. The Steelbook does look nice.
