I always wanted a Belle steelbook to go alongside the UHD Collectors edition from the UK. It's a shame we never had one. I eventually decided to pick up the US blu ray steel release after the EU variant finally sold out during my years long procrastination. I'm glad my hand was forced as this is a gorgeous wraparound metallic spot gloss finish. Love it.

Another banger from the bay. Very clean. Well looked after. Thanks.

Great film this. Mediocre steelbook. Design is bang average, not terrible, not amazing, just okay and the overall finish is average at best. It strangely comes out looking much much nicer in the sunshine, which of course there is none of today.

'The Place Beyond the Pines' Blu Ray Steelbook

Hmm, I'm not sure about this design. When I first saw it, I thought

"nah, this has been used to scrub mildew from the bathroom, is it supposed to be all battered?"

I had to triple check. Clearly that was the design brief. I'm not sure that it was implemented quite as effectively as they thought. I half expected dents for extra realism.
It just looks...well, kind of trashy. Maybe that was the bright idea. Who knows.

Love the interior. I saw that was used on other variants around the world but with added blu-ray, distribution logos and J card details printed onto the steel itself, so it's a pay off against those downers

I checked the HiDefNinja thread on this from way back when. Everyone on that posting absolutely enthused about the design. Loved it!
Were you guys huffing paint fumes back in the day?

No, could have been worse. It really isn't that bad. Or is it? Lol. You decide. :naughty:

Great film though.

Literally dug this out and watched it again the other week. Incredible generational film. If I remember though, when it first came out wasn’t it advertised as white or cream? I think also at the time it was my first fully bare metal steel (or one of) and although annoyed I just accepted it. But yeah this could’ve been special for such a simple design had it been white or cream
