How or why did you choose your username?

I chose mine in 1998.. whilst at college in Newcastle I was signing up to use the Yahoo chatrooms during lessons...

At the time I was really into Friends and Chandler was my favourite character, underscores were "in" at the time and I really don't know why I chose the number 90.

I also go by the alias Evil Par5n1p on Steam/Counter-Strike/X-Box, this was a replacement for Chandler_90 during a spell with a CSS clan where we had to change names to something seasonal during Christmas.. hence Par5n1p and Evil was added due to the fact CSS is a FPS.

:)

Mine is a combo of my first name and a number that means a lot to me. It is in memory of my late wife who was a movie buff herself. Little known fact - we were in the last scene of Field of Dreams if you know that movie :)

Where'd your user name come from?

I was talking to Noodles earlier and asked him if his Blog was about pasta since his user name is... well... Noodles (the answer was no, by the way -- sorry, pasta lovers). This got me wondering where everyone's nicknames came from.

I'll start...

In 1987, when I was 5 years old, I went to a friend's house (who's still my best friend to this day) and we decided to staple some paper together and make our own comic books. The comic the I made was about a cop named John Edward who was experimented on and later became the superhero known as Tridon. It was a little 6-page comic with horrible art and a non-existent story, but that character stayed with me and he's been with me right up to this day. I created 20+ comics starring him when I was a kid and when I was older, I began to write novellas, screenplays and comic scripts starring him. He's been my user name on every single forum I've been a part of since the early 2000s and his name is even used in my email address.

So there ya go... that's where 'Tridon' came from. Your turn. ;)

Awesome thread! Great back story to your name tridon!

Mine... not so much! :p

Why Bloodsnake007? I've had the same yahoo e-mail address since High School! EEK!

Back then I was an even bigger gamer! PS2 was a thriving gaming system!

Blood = was for the Sexy Vampire character, BloodRayne
Snake = Duh... Snake from Metal Gear Solid (the real Snake, not the fake Keiffer Sutherland one!)
007 = Bond, because I thought the numbers sounded cool at the end of any name!

That's my name story! Now I wish I had used a better name here at HDN! Something like:

KongsROAR or Kongatar! :hilarious:

Great idea for a thread.

Mine's quite simple..... my surname is Coomber. Friends some school called me Cooey..... it stuck :D

However, my email address is sammocoo and that's a little more interesting. I'm a huge fan of Martial Arts movies, and I'm a massive fan of Sammo Hung. So Sammo plus Coomber = sammocoo :D

Contrary to popular belief, Shejon01 doesn't mean I'm female :hilarious:

It's pretty simple really. When I started secondary school, they assigned me a username and password to log on to the computers so they could see if you were on porn etc.

It was the first 3 letters of your surname, followed by the first 3 letters of your first name, then the year you joined the school.

So Shejon01 it is. I'm a guy!! It's even my PSN address. :scat:

I used to drop acid back in the day. :hilarious: j/k j/k No Actually AcidX was my call sign way back in the days when I use to phone phreak, phreak the telephone network infrastructure PBX systems, etc, etc. Black Box, Red Box, Infinity Box, you name it I created it for myself.

I then got into cracking software for Team Core. Anyways I don't affiliate with them anymore. I'm a Network Analyst now and can't walk that line anymore.

I put the two names together, changed the 'E' to a '3' and came up with AcIdC0R3. I've had it for years now. Everybody just calls me Acid.

Great Idea!!!

Mine is pretty simple too, my favorite soccer team is from Mexico and its from a University. So UNAM aka Pumas is the name of the University in Mexico city (you can play with them in FIFA). And 9 because that is the number I have always used on my Jersey since I was 7.

petit Lu is a french biscuit, and is from the town I live in, Nantes. Lu is an old trademark, and there is still a remain of the place where these biscuits were made. It is called The Lu Tower and it is quite pretty. It is now also a bar/exposition place called Lieu Unique (The Unique Place) and is quite popular...

Just what is Santa doing to Rudolph in your avatar?!?! :emb:
