I bought the disc drive for the PS5 to obviously play disc based games. I had no idea that you can change the region on it for your blu-ray and DVD movies. I've already got a dedicated 4K player from Panasonic, so I can use that for region B and 2 because I live in the UK and use the PS5 for region A and 1. It's handy because some 4K titles from studios such as Scream Factory in the USA have locked special feature discs.

Say what now? I did not know that! I have the OG with disc drive built in so I guess I'm fresh out of luck!

You can put different regions in. It will change up to 4 times.
The PS5 disc drive for Blu Ray will lock regions after the fourth change.
I think it's also only available on the Slim and separate detachable models. Not the originals which are completely unchangeable those 4 times and only play your local region code.
Please look it up online for more clarity before you accidentally lock the region.

I saw that you'd be using it that way. Was just putting it out there in case you weren't aware and didn't want you to get a shock if it locked.
It's definitely a good way of accessing multi region if you don't mind locking your PS5 to another region.
