10/25/2010 per the FS forum, Brana just confirmed this will be released December 7, with the cover below.

Spotted this on another forum.

LOOKS BADASS.

Unfortunately this may be a G1 sized steelbook. I have no evidence other than experience and speculation, but here we go.

We have a steelbook run that appears as if it will be shared by at least three countries, Canada, Mexico, and the US.

In all three countries we have had recent and upcoming releases of BD Steelbooks in G1 cases

The pictures posted in this thread do appear to have a G1 size and proportion to them

The studio is Warner, a studio that is known for it G1 size BD Steelbook releases.

I am thinking that waiting is a good option

Cheers

Hi All, Warner has always done G2 Steels, as far as I know. The G1 Steel for Expendables was Lion's Gate's 1st Steelbook, and the size may have been chosen because of cost, or sheer inexperience. I think the best we can do is wait for confirmation. There will be plenty pressed of this high-profile title, so everyone could always wait to see what the size is, before ordering.

I'm pretty sure its G2, but the picture is deceiving. I was told only Summit, Maple, and whatever small studio of stallone's were the only ones so far to release G1 blu-ray steels, and that majors (ie. WB) have embraced the g2 size.

So with that I think its G2, but never say never ...

Hey Wreck-thanks-I agree the pic is deceiving-I wonder if Brana was given the DVD Steel pic (if there is one), and inadvertently caused a bit of confusion. Not sure, but I hope it's G2 sized-good flick deserving of a proper BD steel:)

Unfortunately all Warner BD Steelbooks produced in France are G1 size now. I am not saying this means they will do it here, but rather just that they do do it.

Hey Crash, yes, I had added that news to BEC when Mams sent it to me, via his French magazine. I hope it's not the case in the US/Canada, but we'll have to wait and see:)I am keepin' fingers crossed for G2 and "the extra inches", LOL:p

Definately one of the few, if only, cases where smaller is better. :D

Is this confirmation enough of its G2 Size ;)

Blurayjunkie-I don't have the FS Steel in hand, but if you scroll up a few posts, someone already posted an actual pic of it, and it is G2 sized (post # 52).
