the film is alright, but it is just a poor mans rip off of the departed. They pretty much copied the departed and spread it over 3 films hate it when Hollywood films get badly copied by the foreign film industry.

Would prob still get though

I would say it was the other way round. Infernal affairs started 2002!! But I guess you were just kidding.

I think you'll find that 'The Departed' is a rip-off of 'Infernal Affairs' mate ;)

Infernal Affairs - 2002
Infernal Affairs 2 & 3 - 2003

The Departed - 2006

The Departed was also always touted as the unofficial 'Western' remake of 'Infernal Affairs' and 'Infernal Affairs', IMO, is a much MUCH better film than 'The Departed' ;)

departed is the rip off dude, not infernal affairs. they even used the same dialogues in the depated, why? because hollywood does remakes of every foreign movie with a success and then give tit an oscar because they are just so brilliant.

#2 for me it's got alot more going for it than the others with static poses like for a family portrait.

Also like that they used one image with both characters so when view with steelbook cloesed they look like separate images, but once opened up you get the whole image very clever.

#2 looks awesome!

like the idea too...

Sete what a great job. I would love to see your design used as well. I like how the art work fits proportionally with the size of the steelbook.

I am not sure if you did this on purpose or not but you left off "Trilogy" on the front. It still looks amazing regardless.

Thanks!

I forgot to include the word "trilogy" :emb:

As long as any design includes the IF2 actors, I'll be more than happy to buy this!

Good job Sete

Once I heard The Departed was based on this movie I had to see it. I really like Infernal Affairs and was surprised how many scenes in The Departed were directly borrowed from Infernal Affairs.

I haven't seen the sequels. How are the sequels compared to the original without spoiling anything? Are they worth watching?

Absolutely. You kinda have to come at it with a certain perspective in mind. The acting and the characters and story are all great in the first flik. The second does a surprisingly good job at expanding the story with the same characters, but obviously with different actors (who aren't as good as the original main ones, but are good none the less). Then the third film gives us a conclusion that you may or may not have wanted to see from the ending of the first flik. There's more exploration to the first movies main characters and how they eventually change over time into who they were at the end, so it's much more of a character study than it is a suspense thriller.

So all in all the sequels just expand and finish the story that the first put out there. It's sorta like the first Terminator movie where there are hints at much more going on than just the immediate problem of the movie, so the two IF sequels are great if you can enjoy it for the storyline alone without having the suspense of who dies and who gets away with it all like you had for the first film.
