but it wouldn't match with the first 2 releases than and we had the same problem again we have with the uk release.

Yeah, I know. But Concorde, for whatever reason we're the only one's that we're able to get away from the global arc artwork. Just a shame they made such a poor job of all 3 releases in my opinion.

The artwork on the front plus the title printed on the front is the best thing about this release. I think he's talking about how bad it is overall with the poor finish, printed back and banner.

Blu banners are fine if they're part of the J Card but imho they ruin a front cover otherwise.
Everyone goes on about excessive use of text ruining the cover but blu banners are ok? not for me, but each to their own :)

Put in an order for this since the US failed me with a steelbook release. It was actually cheaper to get it from overseas than to go to a store here and buy the regular amaray. Unbelievable.

SO I guess that means Iron Man Futureshop, Ramo AMazon.de and Watned, and Death Race and Hellboy 2 all luke dull to you? I can keep going on down the list. All the high end most expensive steels have a huge price over the ones these days. There is a reason. Its because they are ALL PREMIUM Paint FINISHES and the Banners on every one of them accent them and make them look better. Those banners are not anywhere near the lowgrade paper ones on the J-cards. Better get back to the basics and learn about the earlier blu steels that came out. Or better yet collect them and you will change your mind altogether.

Can you imagine how boring looking Iron Man FS would look without a blu banner. I would look like the crap dvd version that keeps on getting listed on ebay. Looks cheap without the blu banner at the top. It accents it tremendously. ANytime you have a red or gold color in the steel the deep blu really sets it off. Death Race is an extreme example of one with and one without the blu banner. The one with is a million miles ahead of the one without.

It looks to me we got a new breed of collectors. ONes that have never seen blu banners before and had dvd steels to jump from.

Like I said it only my humble opinion, agree to disagree. They are all no doubt brilliant but would have been better IMHO without you know what :) Anyway there almost a thing of the past, very rarely do they pop up now a days. I wonder why ;)

That's pretty obvious. Because they cost more to make. It added an extra step. Premium steels are a thing of the past. The MAJORITY of steels being released quality wise now days is junk. Very few steels fall into the premium category these days. Now we have studios JUMPING into metalpak like you wouldn't believe. I wonder why? Save even more money. The best of the steelbook collecting days is over. Its a good thing I collected the blu banners as much as I could as those are the grails that will always be in big collectors showrooms and command a premium.

You obviously no more than me on this subject so I will bow to your superior knowledge :)

Would of thought that was the cheaper way to do it actually and manufacturing a separate info sheet was more expensive. Also thought the likes of our brilliant community here at HDN swayed them into producing clean looking steelbooks :dunno:

All I see nowdays are cheap steels. Thinner metal and worse finish. More paint chips and quality control problems. Its being done on budget. Funny thing is, back in 2008 the world economy was in much worse shape yet that is the golden age of steels when they were the most premium finishes.

I am not saying all steels are cheap, just most of them nowdays are compared to a few years ago. Be selective and buy the ones that you want.

I'm with you buddy :) There was a time I'd buy every steel Play put out, mainly because the price was very reasonable. But now with inflated prices and in many case lower quality I'm being far more choosy.
