I had already heard manta/collectong stopped their marvel empties and blufans would be only one going forward. This was like a year ago.
After the three released of black widow, thor LAT and Dr Strange I heard they either lost the licence or they weren't as profitable as the thought. Either way, MantaLab are out of the running regarding MCU OCs.

They haven't lost the licence, they've just lost interest.

Then they won't bother to make them as there's no margin for them.

Obtaining a 4k disc cheaply is pretty easy to do whenever you want, discs are ultimately the least valuable part of the package.
That depends on to whom .... disc to distributor is more costly than the steelbook case. Disc to the studio, sure.

coming from someone who has seen such prices.

As for licensing, one can expect 20-25% min when licensing ent. properties. tshirts, cases, you name it. I dont know what the licensing deals are on these, but I know what we licensed at when we did our official stuff and also what I learned at the world's biggest annual licensing expo. And thats the royalty you pay off the msrp, not a sales price. (maybe that could be negotiated in contract, but we didnt)

Sure, I wouldn't begin to guess at the costs for businesses but I meant just as an end consumer, obtaining discs is pretty cheap and easy at any time.

As I stated, either lost the licence or weren't making the money they thought.
How do you think it works with the money angle? Every release has more or less sold out hasn't it? I might understand if the licensing terms require them to release certain titles they might not otherwise want to like say.... Moon knight etc but other than that? Maybe the numbers required? I'm not sure. In their shoes I'd probably want a break from Marvel too though.

BR discs are dirt cheap, but anyone wanting 4k have to wait or fork out £20 odd.
I’ve managed to get some second hand 4k/BR disc sets for around £10 for some of the older titles ie Black Widow, Shangi Chi, but GotG and DP&W arent any cheaper than £20-£30 for the same sets (not much difference second hand or new) - I only want the BR discs but hate having empty slots so 4k sets fill out these BF releases nicely,

Far from dirt cheap though. 4k discs are holding value and arent cheap to buy on release as is (£30 average)

If willing to wait a few years, sure prices get better, but even Quantumania wants £20-25. Same with BP2 (but the latter doesnt have a discless on its way).

Wait for a promotion from a retailer and you'll get these unpopular Marvel films quite cheaply, Thor L&T 4k steelbook I think I've seen as low as £8, Doctor Strange MoM 4k steelbook was cheaper than just the 4k etc. If you buy it at the wrong time then yes you can pay a lot but just don't do that. The only release I can think of where this doesn't work is Wandavision but it's not exactly a like for like comparison.

Used was what I actually had in mind with the original comments, Quantumania for example is £12 from CEX and can go as low as £12 on eBay, Guardians 3 £12-£14 etc. If it's a newer film that's somewhat popular then yes it might cost more but it's all driven by supply and demand, the demand is low for (especially 'modern') Marvel films and the supply is too high so I don't see the discs as especially sought after and don't mind these discless releases.

Throw your numbers, what are the chances of Blufans actually completing their MCU wave. Let's say phases 1,2,3.
Missing:

Phase 1: Avengers, (Iron Man 2 incoming)
Phase 2: completed, (Iron Man 3 incoming)
Phase 3: Captain Marvel, Endgame, Far From Home, (Ant-Man 2 incoming)

Edit: WEA

true... although we do have the Mondo x blufans editions for Avengers, and Fanatics editions for Captain Marvel and Endgame, which are just as blufans MCU as these blufans Premium editions (e.g. either not at all, or roughly the same ).
