I've seen 2000, 3000 and 4000 run quantities batted around, but I don't think that I've seen anyone definitely state with any sort of a source as backup for the info.

Anyway, congrats man!

Wreck once indicated that the print run is actually much higher than you would think. I think it was between 8000 and 10000. I'm sure there are still plenty of copies sitting in random Canadian households with people unaware of its value ;)

Interesting. I wonder what a thorough search of Canadian pawn shops/flea markets would yield. I'm sure most copies are snatched up fairly quick.

If print run around 8000-10000 as you guys said there are lots of cheap copies in Canada I believe :)

I bought 6 bluray steelbooks in the past from eBay then I stopped collecting for a while (not really remember why) 5 of them were Pirates of the Carribean (first 3 movies / still sealed), Monsters Inc. Jumbo and UP Jumbo. I also bought Iron Man that day but when I got it I saw that it was Futureshop DVD release instead of Blu-ray (the guy was listed it as a Bluray). Of course I gave him the feedback he deserved but I could have it in my hands today if it were bluray version :)

I will keep searching till I find one with reasonable price.

Finalllllyyyyy picked one of these up. There was an ebay auction that had a generic Iron Man Blu ray listing but on further inspection of the pictures I realized it was in fact the FS steel. There ended up being one other collector who was wise to this as well so I got it for $76 (after thinking for a moment I was going to snag it for under $20 lol) which is more than I have ever paid for a steel but after 5 years of hunting I couldn't let it slip away.

Just curious but does anyone know what the print run was on this? Have always wondered why it was so expensive when the Play.com exclusive can be had for a fairly decent price if you hunt down a bargain.

Cant wait to get my award when it finally arrives in the mail

As Lutzo mentioned I'm sure the print run on this was above average. It took a few years to become sought after, most of the grail steels usually do. I think over time less and less copies become available which leads to the prices going up. Another example although it's nowhere near the same value is Watchmen FS, I remember when you couldn't sell that at cost because there was so many copies around. Now they are harder to find the price is going up but it has took a few years to get to that point.

I did see an auction on ebay.ca recently where a copy sold for under $80. I missed out that time, but it can be had for a reasonable price if you stay diligent. I got my copy by pure luck - seller listed it as a regular Iron Man blu rather than the steelbook edition.

I remember seeing the Watchmen steel in store, as well as all of the Pixar steels and passed since the price seemed high. This was before I started collecting steels and was just purchasing amarays. Im kicking my butt for that now.

Congrats on the great find Arbsy!

I was able to get a hold of several nice fs exclusives in second hand shops last year (Terminator Salvation, Watchmen, Inglourious Basterds- 2 copies no less, Ratatouille...) for under 15$ each. Now I think other collectors are being more aggressive in their searching , as I haven't found anything worthwhile in months...

this seller's feedback and detailed seller ratings are horrible, proceed with caution. if anybody buys anything from this seller, i would recommend filming the unpacking of the parcel

One negative feedback in particular is in reference to a FS IM that he sold.

I noticed that as well actually. Was nearly a year ago though

But if your buying such item from a seller with 93% feedback then your a better gambling man than me

P.S I suck at gambling
