I guess I'm the only one who prefers the Play design instead. Love the gloss and vibrant colours on that one.

If this didn't have the Lenti it wouldn't look as nice IMO. Not a fan of the 'black' tone of the design. Also, from the beginning I felt that they could have used better imagery other than a close up of his hand! Maybe the front and back covers should be reversed? But hey, that's just me.

Looking forward to seeing it in hand. Maybe I'll be converted!

I think people who own the FS version will always belittle any other version, not because the FS version is the best, but because it costs a fortune and they need to protect it's value. I've noticed that people who have the FS version are really OTT about how amazing it is, when in reality - it's got a blu banner so instantly becomes the worst of them all (IMO) I will never understand why people despise the blu banner on every other steel but defend it, and even praise it on FS Iron Man!

I find that the owners of the play version are more accepting of other releases, maybe it's because they didn't spend a few hundred dollars / pounds / yen or whatever on theirs?! :naughty:

Personally can't wait for this and blufans to arrive, as they both look amazing and as much as I love my play version, I am sure that one or both of these new releases will overtake it! If not, fine, but at least I'm open to the possibility that something better could come along... ;)

Whereas I find those who don't own the FS version always belittle it, probably because they're jealous. But they won't admit that.

[insert whatever smileys you want to here]

Anyway, this is off topic again, so expect the posts to be deleted soon.

I'm just pleased I'll be able to sit the Blufans and Kimchi versions along side my Play and FS versions

Dude, if you're implying I'm jealous that I don't own the FS Iron Man, you could not be more wrong. I would buy it, for the sake of having them all, but I'd only pay £30 tops for it, (it it was mint / sealed) - and continue to hate that blue banner when in hand...

Why would anyone be jealous of someone who has a steelbook? They're available to everyone...

To criticise is not really constructive. How easy it is to point out faults, such as..

Back to front inside art (if you're ocd that could really irk)
No disc art - this surprised even me
No embossing/debossing - ranks it alongside Germany's IM3 and Trilogie
No gloss (to be confirmed) - I'm struggling to believe that's actually true
Low print numbers (1-1,500) - tbc if only for local market
Dark and gloomy cover/back art
Tiny spine title

On the plus side, if you don't own a Play or FS Version, this will fill the hole in your collection. I personally think the lack of not even a single "WOW" or "OMG"after the first photoshot is so unfair.

Good lord, some people really have had a humour bypass on here. Its obviously ok to put up patronising posts about how people who like the FS version are wrong, but try and inject a bit of humor and the world ends.

ok - I apologise.

Lets get this thread back on topic, and stop berating people for liking/disliking the FS version.

Dude you could use that arguement for anything.
I heard you like to be called Sandra on Saturday nights, but you won't admit it.

Actually I prefer Candy, but thats for another thread

I think If I had to take this or the play version I would go with this every time. The FS IM is the holy grail and it has earned it's spot by being the IM steelbook to have for the past few years. Is it the best design, probably not. I actually think this package and the Blu-fans is better than either the FS or play versions. As for values I can see FS remaining high and the play one falling a little. This is more desirable than the Play version IMO. It's good to have choices though and each to their own! I will be happy to get my hands on this! I want to see that lenticular effect!

As someone who ones both FS and Play IM I have to say with all honesty that the colours on the FS edition are far superior. The red is Blood red as opposed to a carmine red. It's just very bright and in your face, just like Tony Stark.
I just think that this edition is way too dark. If it had been a light background, maybe smokey it would have looked a lot better. I think that after the colossal build up this version has been getting, the finished product is a little lacklustre TBH.

I own both the FS DVD version and the Play bluray steelbook as well. While I think the FS version has a more classy look to it, I like the Play steelbook more because the colors are more vibrant, and you can see the arc reactor in his chest.

With this steelbook, I am really disappointed that there is no embossing/debossing, but I personally find the artwork to be superior to the rest. I like the darker look with the black background, and the fact that Iron Man is in an action pose instead of just showing part of the mask, or having him standng front and center, really adds to the appeal.
