HELLOOOOO, it is IRON MAN :hilarious:

Honestly i think most have not been able to get a Steelbook for Iron Man (1) and it REALLY looks great... way better than the german MM exclusive!
And the Futureshop one is "out of the range" for most Collectors also...

So was it the strength of the movie then?? Its just weird how this would command such a high price now! Whats the approximate value of a sealed one?

Exclusive limited run steelbook of IMO the best Marvel film so far is the reason. Going for around £50 new/sealed. Don't understand why THOR goes for so much though.

I agree it is my favourite Marvel movie so far as well. I havent got any of the Marvel steels, its a bit of a wallet minefield so im not sure if I want to get involved or not. If I get one I'll need to buy them all, I know what I'm like haha! Does Thor go for more, even an unsealed one??

This hit before I was a collector (newbie!), how come the demand for this was so great when its the same print run as every other steelbook that gets released? Is it because the artwork is great or was there something super special about it??

Didn't you know this Steelbook had a light up chest piece?!?!?! When you opened the steelbook up... the light on his chest came on, like it was powering up - That's why the demand was so high!

Sorry you missed out buddy.

If you will want the lot I wouldn't bother. I only wanted Iron Man 1&2 so wasn't too bad for me. Unsealed THOR goes for around £50! :wtf:

"At least 10 pieces of shrapnel in every steelbook!"

You win some you lose some :(

Man of Steel, i've PM'ed you ;) oo-errr!

I have seen this steelbook in person and I noticed a curious thing. The blue background behind Iron Man, especially on the back cover, is such that it looks like it has hairline scratches or slight scuff marks. Looks as if the steelbook had some wear on it.

However, the steelbook I was looking at was absolutely pristine so I know it is something inherent in the design. It does not look like a manufacturing defect either. Looking at pictures of other copies of the steelbook, I see the same little marks in exactly the same places. It does not ruin the steelbook in any way, but why would they design the artwork in a way that makes it look like the steelbook contains some of the type of flaws that collectors dread?

Normally yes. I got a sealed copy with the mail yesterday, and I payed around the 80 Pounds (€ 94) including shipment. The Rest of the Marvel Steels I also collected this month (Captain America HMV, Iron Man 1 and 2, Avengers Auchan Edition, and now Thor - Muller Exclusive Edition. The 2 Hulk steels I bought last month) As mentioned .. it really cost a few ribs, but they are really nice to have. ;)

thor definitely costs more than iron man
simply because there are many iron man steelbook releases, and well, only 1 thor release (which is also older and IMO the best looking steelbook ever)

I guess it will go up to at least 250 Euros by the time Thor 3 comes out (especially because the amount of available Thor steelbooks decreases constantly)

but Thor was an international release in many countries. the print run must be really high in comparison to iron man (play.com exclusive)

I think I may be because when thor was released people may have not got this. But since IM 1-2 and hulk were released then people wanted to complete the avengers set.

Plus Thor was released at a point where the trend of buying multiple copies wasn't so prevalent. Now though anything with a hint of going OOS is bought en masse and it makes those items less likely to rise in price a great deal (take Battle Royale or Oldboy for example). Of course if a title's popularity is high enough, the demand is real and therefore it will rise in price (e.g. Aladdin).

Oldboy and Battle Royal are 2 of the best Steels from last year, I'm pretty certain that as the eBay listings run down then their demand will shoot up.

they have nowhere near a fan base as large as the marvel movies + imo their hype faded away over the years..
