Sold mine as damaged for £45 - good result in the end.

My view is that 45 pounds is cheap even for a damaged steel. One has to consider the relative prices of steels. I read somewhere on HDN that IM FS had an issue size of 7,000. Despite that, its value is more than US$800. IM Play is as good (or not much worse) than IM FS and is more rare (issue size of 4,000 only) and yet it is only 10% of the value of IM FS. :(

Collectors may say that IM FS is so much better, blah blah blah .... but does it justify the price ie 10x?

Anyway, the movies IM3 and Thor 2 will be in the theaters this year and I think that prices of all IM and Thor steels can only go higher......

the fact that iron man futureshop was released over 4 years ago might have something to do with its high value not many for sale new/sealed on ebay, iron man play was only released last year and ebay is still full of listings for them , see how much its worth in 4 years when the supply has dried up and not after a few months

Personally i WOULD'NT PAY 45GBP for an open copy LET alone a DAMAGED ONE..
I agree with you buddy re-guards to the IRONMAN (FS) and(PLAY) COPY..
And as LUCKY as i am I have BOTH sitting side by side on a shelf..and ive noticed every time i go into that room the one that catches my eye first is the (PLAY) copy...BUT there was a hell of a differance in price..In the two.
And your right these will all get a hefty boost in value by end of next year..With the new releases of these movies
I think anyone sitting on these marvel titles to sell or trade are going to achieve a huge windfall by then..And if you don't have them :( you are going to need very deep pockets indeed.:ohno:

Agreed Burragum

due to the limited print run , and the awsome Art work on the Play.com realease, I feel that , the damaged ones are not so important atm.. because plenty of new ones are still available !!

However, I will predict that IM Play, especially now that Play has gone a$$ over Ti# will increase in value much, much quicker !!

I think that within 12 months uou will be looking at sales inaccess of $150 per steel !! that is just a rough guestimate , It may well bring more , once all the scalpers stock piles have ran out :naughty:

i'm comparing this to the Thor steels which had a much more higher print run since it was a worldwide release.this is actually selling at a higher rate than Thor when it was readily available like Iron Man presently and everyone knows how much Thor is selling these days.Iron Man is a very popular title and when the Play version is no longer in a mass quantity and easily found on ebay,it will easily escalate higher than where Thor is at currently.

Just before I sold the damaged copy, I emailed Rarewaves to let them know that the item was scratched upon delivery but I was happy to keep it because they were out of stock. To my surprise, this email just arrived in my inbox:

Hi there,

Thank you for your email. We can now confirm that we have issued you with a 20% refund and you should receive it within 24 hours.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we hope you are happy with the solution.

So I bought it for £32, sold it for £45, and got £6.40 back for the damage. Can't argue with that, it's funded my replacement (cheers sunnyx ;)) :D
