Very handsome item and definitely one for the collection which is really low on lenticular steelbooks
Hope the other 7 look as good as or better than this one.
Grateful thanks and a big pat on the back to all concerned re. these releases and looking forward to the opportunity of picking this up on Monday

EDIT: thanks for the comparison pics - although the Blufans may win the beauty contest the Zavvi is a highly placed runner-up as far as I'm concerned.

EDIT: My bet placed today is that you won't be able to pick up this lovely set of 8 for under 500 quid a year from now.

Clearly not everyone believed this would be available as a standalone and if they had done I suspect many that bought this with the ZBOX just to get their hands on the steelbook would not have done so.
Even today this is not universal knowledge and you have only to glance at the secondary market to see that 3 of these have been sold in the space of 24 hours for approx.GBP 45 and others on the way to figures north (even though it's been revealed it will be available to purchase in a couple of days for less than half that figure . . . ).

Although I never receive emails from Zavvi (apart from dispatch notifications) I've seen messages from the middle of August sent by Zavvi to other people regarding this item with one reading:-
"EXCLUSIVE MARVEL MYSTERY STEELBOOK REVEALED!
SELLING FAST ONLY 500 REMAINING!
Last week we teased you with the promise of a fantastic new mystery Marvel Steelbook available alongside this month's ZBOX, and we're excited to finally reveal to you that this will in fact be a Zavvi Exclusive Iron Man Steelbook! Limited Edition with a lenticular cover. This Marvel steelbook is just what your collection is missing.
Only 500 remaining - act fast to make sure you get your hands on this fantastic addition to your Steelbook collection."

No matter what I personally feel about the "500 remaining" bit I can see that 500 out of 1,000 ZBOX bundles makes perfect sense to me.
The one important detail omitted by Zavvi is that, yes, we are bundling 1,000 "IM" steelbooks exclusively with ZBOXs BUT we have another 3,000 to release as standalones at a date TBC . . .

Handsome Steelbook!?
Lol never heard a Steelbook described as that.

I hope the other 7 are a landslide better than this one but we know that won't be the case

Having read most of the comments across the forum on this marvel wave, I keep seeing 'it's ok', 'it'll do', 'not bad', such a shame, being given 8 marvel steel's all with new art to release in 1 wave and for this to be the outcome and finished product is like missing an open goal, for the premium price these should have had much more care and attention in the manufacturing process....not bad...should and could have been AWESOME!!!!!!

I can imagine people who resorted to the bay and paid MASSIVELY inflated and quite ludicrous prices are royally pissed right now too...:rofl::hilarious::whistle::angel:

I saw one listing on ebay for $82.99 + shipping! That seller had sold 1/2, made profit on the steelbook AND the zbox! I really want this steelbook but gosh, not at that price!

You don't have to worry because you will be able to buy this little beauty for the proper price (alas, without the ZBOX . . . lol) for just under *20 quid on the day and at the time listed at the head of this page.
(*If priced same as "IM 2" @GBP 21.99 and if the ZAVWEL54 code is still around it should come to a grand total of GBP 19.79).

A very informative post. I can see from the discussions this weekend on forums and social media that a lot of people aren't happy about the situation, with some feeling that they have been "duped" or "misled" somehow. I have even seen the words "trading standards" being uttered in a few instances, so it's clear that there are a lot of unhappy people out there who bought into this Zbox deal and feel that they have been played like a fiddle.

I think it was very clear from the start that nobody really wanted to buy the Zbox, and this was clearly an experiment set-up by Zavvi to see whether people would do so if they were "lured in" with the promise of an exclusive SteelBook release. Many people jumped on the bandwagon believing it to be the only way they could obtain these titles, and now feel as if they have been betrayed by Zavvi for offering them separately. They originally announced a set amount would be available, and the bundle appeared several times during the course of the pre-order period, so many believed that these had indeed sold out. Some people have even reported having had their SteelBooks cancelled after having the Zbox forced onto them months ago, so that's an even worse situation for those who it has affected

Deceit.
They've misled the ones who took the bait and bought the Zbox bundles, and deceived those who had their orders cancelled after being sent the Zbox in advance. No matter which way you look at it, Zavvi have deceived everyone.

And award for comedy post of the day goes to....

@virkia this may come across rude but imgaine I'm speaking calmly to you!
I wish you would reply to people instead of constantly editing your original post with replies to people. It's very confusing and annoying at times.

Obviously your choice to do that but I'm just letting you know you can reply to others or have more than one post in each thread.

Incase you were unaware lol

I know that wasn't aimed at me but just for future reference. Nearly every post I make I end up editing because my ipad likes to save previous messages when I start a new one and I have to go back and delete the irrelevant stuff that gets posted by accident :D.

Oh no I don't mean that.
I edit posts all the time when I notice a spelling mistake or a sentance that don't make sense when you see it back a bit later or your wrong about something and you need change it etc
I use a phone so predictive text gets me a lot (but gets it wrong lol)

He answers to multiple people by editing the one message at times (not all the time) and it gets confusing

Shouldn't of mentioned it now but it gets to me lol
