Does amuse me the amount of bashing on here about this, yet I'm the only person I can see that has even mentioned their unhappiness on Zavvi's Facebook page, and judging by Twitter too there has been little negative said to them apart from a handful of comments. Attacking companies on Social Networks where the public can read works a lot better than moaning on here which is more closed off.

See I don't have a Facebook or Twitter account (and don't want one) otherwise I'd happily share my comments directly with them. Sometimes I do message them through their site but we all know how they are handled.

So my only other option is here lol hoping they read it

They do-but as with any retailer-it doesn't mean they plan to change their sales approach. Personally, I always think options are a good thing but if a retailer only wants to provide 1 option, it remains their prerogative-outcry or no outcry, lol.

Zavvi are a retailer and do more than most for the steelbook community IMO.

- consumer want a steelbook included in a zbox.
A- zavvi do a mystery box confirming its a marvel title
- consumer want to know what the title is, as they're worried it might be a crap animation.
A-zavvi confirm it's not an animation
- consumer complaining the mystery zbox steelbook is a mystery!!
A- zavvi confirm it's gonna be a baddass iron steelbook, so no longer a mystery.
- consumer now complain they can't buy the steelbook by itself, now they know its a baddass IM steel.
A- Zavvi are in a no win situation, as they want to promote their zbox following, which many collectors like, as its not just about steels.

Basically get a life!! If you want it, buy it. You pay more without composing tho blufans etc for just the steelbook!!!

If you don't agree with their approach, then don't buy it. Simples!!!!

I'm personally looking forward to my zbox and steel, as it looks great!! :)

Oh yeah if that's what they want to do then they can but when they have done this previously they have given the option to buy on its own, it's so clear to me they are doing this to help their sales for Zbox which obviously is not doing too great and they have probably pumped loads of money into something that might not make it past a year in terms of sales and revenue and on top of that they have targeted us, steelbook collectors when they know full well we are not their biggest supporters and they cause loads of grief whether it's terrible decisions, packaging, damaged items, pull your hair out customer service and so on and this does not help their reputation in anyway.

They want to be the home of steelbooks or whatever they say then they have to provide a better service and listen to the feedback from us. They are like a stubborn child of a company.

Look at Eone direct getting involved with us. Zavvi could take notes and it might help them out.

I would hate to own a company or be a CEO etc and have all this hate toward me or it becuase they don't listen to the customer.

I bought a a few steelbooks the other week and the day they was dispatched by zavvi the price dropped. So I complained to see if I can be refunded the difference as they were dropped before mine were sent and after about 7 messages they were not doing it.

I bought something from Amazon the other day and a day after I receievd the item (so about 3 -4 days after I had ordered) I noticed the price had dramatically dropped so I mentioned to them and they came back to me saying they did not see the price drop happening and to keep up with excellent customer service they will refund me the difference. It was amazing and they do that quite often, they know how to treat a customer and deal with complaints or queries correctly.

Sorry got a bit long there. My point is they don't help themselves when other companies thrive of off feedback and help in making them a better company.

Sorry, but telling member's who are voicing their opinions to "get a life" is just plain wrong......I thought this was a forum.

I keep reading all this cr*p that we wanted a steelbook in a Zbox and I never once see this anywhere or voted for it. Also people have budgets each month and to add £40 on it for a box of tat I don't know I'm getting is far worse than paying £20 for a steelbook I want and don't own yet. I don't buy many asian steelbooks but at least you know what your getting in the packages.
I've had 3 zboxs (justice/ guardians/ animation) and all 3 were terrible and went back after a painful time consuming arguement. I'm not risking paying £40 quid I don't have on stuff I don't know I'm getting. I just want the steelbook and the option should be avaliable for it.
It's like they wanted this back lash and they get off over it.
It's iron man and marvel for christs sake of course collectors want it. But making you pay more for something you have no idea what your getting is wrong unless the option is there.

No problem, Flloydo-many of your concerns have been shared by other members as well, and several go beyond the discussion of 1 release or 1 sales promotion. Amazon is always difficult to use as a benchmark because their resources are far superior to every other retailer. No one can blame a retailer for seizing opportunities for a popular franchise and trying to earn revenue-that is the nature of sales and growth. As has been mentioned a few times, large retailers do not and cannot just rely on 1 product line (like Steelbooks) to be successful and leverage margin-that's just the way the cookie crumbles at retail (which is why all retailers cross promote low and higher margin items, regularly).

Over the years there has been all kinds of levels of feedback in our community, which has affected all kinds of change-thoughtful, constructive, extreme, and everything in between-and as long as it doesn't involve over the top insults, profanity and personal attacks, we're cool with that.

To all of our Marvel and Iron Man fans, I hope you are happy with this Steelbook in your collection once you receive it-no matter which way you end up acquiring it, if at all.

I stand by my comments and if you feel my the phrase "get a life" is plain wrong, then how can the same forum use crude swearing at Zavvi and that's not classed as plain wrong? Maybe a better word wold have been perspective rather than life ;-)

Back on subject, I'm so looking forward to seeing this steelbook in hand and hope there maybe a T-shirt thrown into the zbox for good measure :)

If you don't like something VOICE YOUR OPINION! Simples. We live in a democracy. As for "get a life" I have one thanks and don't feel the need to be so rude while living it.

And I'll stand by my comment...back on topic, enjoy your Steelbook.

Look what happened with Dredd Steelbook

First was only available with a Zbox and later that same day went live on its own but was then listed as sold out in 1 hour

Did a lot customers buy the Cop Zbox/Dredd combo
I doubt very much they did
(Cop Zbox/Dredd combo Steelbook
Note its not Sold out its still available
)
What we expected to see was at some stage the Steelbook come back on its own on Zavvi website but instead it was made available to purchase on its own on the Hut Website and was available for over a month and at a cheaper price
I wonder what % of orders for the Dredd Steelbook was from the Hut Website

I repeat the best solution for Zavvi if they want to create sales for the Zbox is to offer a big discount if your order both as separate items in a order but with payment only taken for each item when ready to be despatched and not take payment for both at the same time

At the same time allow customers to order the Steelbook on its own

If Iron Man Steelbook was not part of a Zbox package and went live for example tomorrow all stock of the steelbook would sell out for real the same day

It's now Wednesday and after 5 days it's not sold out the mystery Steelbook/Combo

If the print run is the minimum 2,000 for a single Steelbook that's not getting a release in other countries they will not sell 2,000 Zbox/Iron Man Steelbook

So instead of selling out all Iron Man Steelbook mega fast they will be left with a package that will struggle to sell

Don't be surprised if Iron Man Steelbook appears on the Hut Website at some stage

Wait, I have another idea.

What if Zavvi released a Zbox with a random steelbook part in it? Make it a blind box, and some of the boxes have the back plate, some have the front, some have the spine/inner case. You'd have to get multiple zboxs in order to build your steelbook.

Then of course, you destroy half of the front plates before hand, so that people keep buying the boxes over and over trying to get the full set.
