Everybody who bought one cannot wait to get this. The only 'premium' released worldwide at present. It might be WWA but that slip cover and being a zeta edition adds a whole lot more to this release.

Strange that such a commercially successful film hasn't had any proper premium editions. Horror is quite a neglected genre generally in terms of steelbooks :(.

Agreed. I think there is so much potential to release much nicer, premium editions of horror films. The Insidious or Conjuring series for example... the artwork, lentis, booklets etc could be wonderful. Imagine a collection of Zetas for that series.
Nothing 'special' is ever put out for horror films. I could see a wonderful premium edition of the Shining too with 'Red Rum' written somewhere on a fullslip.

Shame.

I know this is very wishful thinking, but I'd love to get a premium edition for the exorcist, too bad it will probably never happen

It Follows did get a nice release but by and large Horror films don’t get the best treatment unfortunately.:(
I would also love to see a premium edition for The Shining!

I recently watched this, and I must say I acutally prefer the original 1990 release. A bit disappointed as I was expecting good things due to the ratings. The new generation just did not really connect at all for this remake. I'm hoping there will be a step up for the sequel when they are Adults.

I posted something similar a while back. I thought this new theatrical version was good but overall prefer the made for TV version. Acting by the kids was better, just had a better feel to it. We'll see how the sequel with the "adults" goes.

I'd probably agree that yes, the kids were better in the original. More likeable I think.

But as a whole, this remake is still much better than the campy TV edition IMO.

And that is what made it more 'likeable' You said it yourself!
The special effects obviously better due 27 years difference in technology. But the connection the kids made as a group is why the new release doesn't live up to it the old release, no matter how many fancy digital aesthetics and special fancy cameras you can give it :p

Yeah, the original was campy and I got bored watching it. The remake has it’s own merits. CGI made it scarier.
