Old infos:
Note About Ordering From Entertainment Store said:
They will ONLY DELIVER TO UK ADDRESSES AT THE MOMENT.

A way around this: (confirmed by retailer thats its ok)

1) Order directly but add a UK HDN members address for delivery
OR
2) Ask a UK HDN member to kindly order it for you

So please be careful when ordering because if you've put an address outside the UK your order will be most likely be cancelled by Play.

I'm sure Andy (apsmith) confirmed somewhere in here that Entertainment Store bought these directly from Paramount to sell in the UK, hence the English j-card and UK rating sticker.

EDIT: Yep, he did...

And good on him I say. Really pleased to have a UK version of this steel.and it's a cracker.

Looking forward to what else he's going to get for us in the Uk.

this steelbook is being released all around the world (germany, france, spain, etc.).. you guys think that the entire run has the same damage ?

I love this steel, it's stunning and very high quality. Mine looks A1!

This was a blind buy for me. Watched the film last night & omg it's brilliant

Hard to say but easy to guess. Depends on where these were printed. Shame that QC is going down the drain. I would never pay 27.99 for a new release with manufacturing defects. If this was priced 14.99 or 17.99 wouldn't have minded.

23,99€ ( ~ 20 GBP ) here in germany :naughty:

i'll give em a check instore.. but i'm not too ocd, so i'll probably buy it even if theres the infamous faint scratch

Once the print run is confirmed, I'm sure the defect won't put too many people off. If this is 350-400 which I expect it is then it'll be rare and hghly sought after.

It's stupidly hard to see - and the steel itself is absolutely beautiful even in spite of a very very faint mark.

Certainly true. I still have a problem when I am paying a good chunk of money and not getting the appropriate quality. We shouldn't allow them to speculate only on the print run and not taking quality issues seriously.

However the finish on this steel looks really high quality. Haven't seen the movie yet. If it's good I will get one myself.

I think ES have probably been ridiculously unlucky with this, the scratch is very hard to see when the items are sealed so assuming they received them already wrapped it would have taken someone with either the OCD nature of a collector to notice it or a good stroke of luck to spot it without opening one up. With their customer service being as good as it is and with this being their first release I can understand people trying to downplay it but at the price of the steelbook for the buyer it isn't good enough. We can talk value all we want but this is an item that has a defect and for those not considering selling and who just want a mint item for their collection it's a shame. If this does turn out to be a batch wide problem, as it probably is, what do we suspect will happen, do we have to just put up with the copies we have or send them back for a full refund or would we expect a partial refund ala Amazon?

I bet the print run is the last of their worries this morning. There will be a lot of emails in their inbox from over the weekend asking for replacements.

I've been waiting two days for a reply to an email from them...

Yes it seems the customer service was excellent until the scratch saga. I have also had no reply as yet. Doesnt surprise me though they must now have a backlog of 400/500 emails all complaining. Its a shame really as its obviously not ES fault. This wont do them any favours though first exclusive all damaged.

Wouldnt be so bad if it didnt cost £27.99

Has anyone had a reponse on scratchgate at all? I'd be interested to know what the situation is as mine has a scratch too and suddenly £27.99 for a damaged product doesnt seem all that appealing now i've had the weekend to mull it over! Even if it is only a light hairline...

I agree. Eventhough the scratch isn't bad its still there. And since every copy seems to have perhaps the early comment was right and that's why ES got these as they was damaged. Hopefully its just a 1 off and all there exclusives are mint. But if all there exclusive have minor imperfections then I don't exspect they'll as many :(

As said before on here if this is a manufacturing issue (because even people who originally thought they had a mint found the scratch later) then its unlikely a replacement will be any better.

I emailed them asking about a replacement but that was after 5pm on Saturday (they'd probably gone home and have sunday off) and haven't had a reply yet. However, after mulling it over I am gonna keep mine as it seems to me to be a manufacturing issue and the fact this is really limited.

I understand your point though Strikeman. If it does bother you then they'd probably ask you to send it back for a refund.

I Have spent the weekend looking all over my copy in every light imaginable, Also with a magnifying glass and I cannot find the scratch that people are referring to.

I believe mine to be mint, I've really scanned the front and apart from a couple of lines on the shrinkwrap (I checked it was on there by moving the seal around) I see nothing.

Are there any photos of where the line is meant to be ( I read that it is to the right of reachers face, but there is nothing on mine)?
