Old infos:
Note About Ordering From Entertainment Store said:
They will ONLY DELIVER TO UK ADDRESSES AT THE MOMENT.

A way around this: (confirmed by retailer thats its ok)

1) Order directly but add a UK HDN members address for delivery
OR
2) Ask a UK HDN member to kindly order it for you

So please be careful when ordering because if you've put an address outside the UK your order will be most likely be cancelled by Play.

That's not one of the options though. Full refund or keep it is the message I'm getting from that email

Probably all in agreement that the last thing we want is option 3 = increased print run! :ohno:

Sorry I made a suggestion to ES about a partial refund.

Has anyone had a reponse on scratchgate at all? I'd be interested to know what the situation is as mine has a scratch too and suddenly £27.99 for a damaged product doesnt seem all that appealing now i've had the weekend to mull it over! Even if it is only a light hairline...

Be patient its only just been announced the scale of the issue we still dont even know the print run this could possibly be a very sought after item dont be put off by the very slight scratch, I bet there are a few collectors wish the had the error version of ID4 & I bet a lot who had that regret their decision when that was going on. I am not saying thats what will happen its just my opinion but its possible so just chill and see what happens

I Have spent the weekend looking all over my copy in every light imaginable, Also with a magnifying glass and I cannot find the scratch that people are referring to.

I believe mine to be mint, I've really scanned the front and apart from a couple of lines on the shrinkwrap (I checked it was on there by moving the seal around) I see nothing.

Are there any photos of where the line is meant to be ( I read that it is to the right of reachers face, but there is nothing on mine)?

Guys just chill and see where this goes,
option 1 no point all are the same
option 2 no thanks keeping this baby all the way
option 3 will wait and see but I hope no reprint,

personally I would offer a small discount e-voucher to all who purchased & kept their copy's that way we get a discount on our next purchase & it would be financially better for ES than the majority asking for a full refund inc postage, surely they could pass this expense to the supplier or strike a deal on future orders.

Wreck could you please suggest this when you next talk to the guy's at ES

They should have hired a OCD collector and got the steelz quality checked before shipping

Myself and magnifying glass are available! :p

Seriously though, that's pretty sharp photography to capture the defect so clearly. Maybe it's just the light but that looks a bit more severe than the ones on mine. So maybe some are worse than others? It's hard to say, though we can be sure now all have the marks to some degree.

I have to say that I do feel sorry for the Ent. Store over this. They've committed themselves to providing good customer service, posted the steel books out in good time and in secure packaging, but in the end have been let down by crappy manufacturing quality. Much as i'm disappointed for us as collectors, I'm just as disappointed for them as a seller.

Yeah i see exactly the same thing regarding the picture above, my 2 copies both have the line but its extremely hard to see.

the print run is like 50000 as the steelbook is exactly the same all around the world ^~

you guys are crazy to pay an insane mark up for a stupid piece of paper ( & A FAINT SCRATCH ) ;-)

Thats the saving grace about the scratch, I havent opeed mine because the value is in the complete package with the UK J-card in place. And whilst the shrink is on the scratch is less apparent, WIN WIN! :hilarious:

Just a thought towards a resolution guys:

Maybe The Entertainment Store could offer a voucher code to all those who purchased J.Reacher to use against their next Exclusive Steelbook?

I'm assuming the manufacturer will compensate them somehow for the flaw, and a discount voucher would be a way of lessening the blow to customers of receiving imperfect copies at £28. Plus which they gather more business going forward.

Okay we don't get fresh minty replacements, but as I think that's an unlikely scenario anyway, maybe a discount voucher for next time would be a fair solution?

Firstly the UK version has 500 not 50000.

Secondly please refrain from calling anyone on this forum crazy. It is up to the individual how he/she wishes to part with their money.

Thirdly how can the mark up of £27.99 be deemed insane for such a rare release.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but when it comes to calling other members stupid/crazy/insane then you should keep that opinion to yourself.

Oh and the stupid piece of paper you are refering to is what differentiates this release from the others. Yep that stupid piece of paper is what says this is a highly sought after UK release in limited quantity of just 500.

I know where my money was well spent.
