Old infos:
Note About Ordering From Entertainment Store said:
They will ONLY DELIVER TO UK ADDRESSES AT THE MOMENT.

A way around this: (confirmed by retailer thats its ok)

1) Order directly but add a UK HDN members address for delivery
OR
2) Ask a UK HDN member to kindly order it for you

So please be careful when ordering because if you've put an address outside the UK your order will be most likely be cancelled by Play.

Just a thought towards a resolution guys:

Maybe The Entertainment Store could offer a voucher code to all those who purchased J.Reacher to use against their next Exclusive Steelbook?

I'm assuming the manufacturer will compensate them somehow for the flaw, and a discount voucher would be a way of lessening the blow to customers of receiving imperfect copies at £28. Plus which they gather more business going forward.

Okay we don't get fresh minty replacements, but as I think that's an unlikely scenario anyway, maybe a discount voucher for next time would be a fair solution?

Totally agree. Looked about 5 times before I could see the very feint line under the wrap.

haha i didnt want to offend anyone.. its just something i cant understand.. yet..

There are a few of us collectors who are about 5 cans short of a six-pack and the rarity factor is very important to us. It might just be a j-card to one collector but to another it is the 'proof'. If you think that only 500 were made available to the UK and not all of those seem to have hit the actual market, then that is where the rarity of this comes in. For me it's all about the hunt

Plus there's a story behind it now too :D

No hard feelings mate

Secondly please refrain from calling anyone on this forum crazy. It is up to the individual how he/she wishes to part with their money.

In fairness mate, I am a bit crazy! :hilarious: But you make a good point

Firstly the UK version has 500 not 50000.

Secondly please refrain from calling anyone on this forum crazy. It is up to the individual how he/she wishes to part with their money.

Thirdly how can the mark up of £27.99 be deemed insane for such a rare release.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but when it comes to calling other members stupid/crazy/insane then you should keep that opinion to yourself.

Oh and the stupid piece of paper you are refering to is what differentiates this release from the others. Yep that stupid piece of paper is what says this is a highly sought after UK release in limited quantity of just 500.

I know where my money was well spent.

seriously, dont be so sensitive.. its quite obvious i didnt mean it in a disrespectful way, but of course sorry, if you felt that way..

I've asked for option 2 - a replacement. Luke has said that it will be sent out to me today and then I can wait for it to arrive before sending back the original and having a full postage refund. Thought it was worth a shot to see if there's any differences at all, just to put my mind at rest.

Make no mistake though, this is a very very minor mark and the pictures of the scratch definitely exaggerate the issue. And for me, yes it might just be a piece of card, but that card is the proof that I have the UK version. I did the same for Cap Am and Thor and any other steel with a worldwide artwork.

What happens if you don't send the other one back, will they just charge you £27.99 and you end up with a extra copy ;)

Well I for one am very happy with the way Entertainment Store have dealt with it all so far, at the end of it all it's not there fault. I never saw the mark the first few times I looked at it and I knew exactly where to look and what I was looking for.
Let hope this doesn't put them off releasing more.

I remember selling a copy of Salt HMV long time back. The buyer found a 1mm paint blob (not a paint chip but some paint residue left) on the botttom of the case and I had to refund 5 out of the 15 he paid. That's how sensitive some people are to imperfections even if it is manufacturing related.:(

Offering partial refunds or discount towards next purchase would be the best thing to do as a total recall is virtually impossible.

Thats what I suggested :hilarious:

Just for information if anyone is interested, I spoke to entertainment store via a few emails this morning and have the following information.

The title will be billed on the 15th and despatched on the 17th, also in answer to my question about the size of the print run the had the following to say:

"We’ll be revealing the print run on Reacher on 22nd April – you won’t be disappointed!"

So the 22nd we will find out the exact amount, my guess is less than 500

Called it ;) (almost)

How can they send another copy out if it is sold out :) or is the print run not exactly the truth :)

what if EVERYONE asks for a replacement...does that mean Paramount will HAVE to do another print run

I doubt they sold through the full 500 initially and kept some back for returns. Probably a good thing too ;)

Problem is people have nothing to lose by asking for a replacement especially on such a rare item.

a) Don't need to send original back till new copy arrives (possibly not send back at all and keep two).

b) Get postage refunded so no cost option.

Seems people would be daft not to do this just in case they get a perfect one, extremely doubtful but hey why not try. In which case what happens when they run out of spare copies, surely at that price they wouldn't keep too many spare copies to hand.

I've looked hard at mine, tilted at different angles and under different light sources and damned if I can see a scratch on it. Very pleased to hear about the print run though, now that's a really exclusive UK steelbook :D
