Mine arrived this morning, no problems this time, thought there was a spine slash, but it is only on the outside packaging, no marks on steel, thank god, looks nice!!!

Was it along the length of the spine, if so both my replacements look like they have a mark all along the spine but it doesn't look like it has gone through the plastic wrap ?

Yes virtually the length, but yes it hasn't gone through the plastic wrap, phew!!

Mine arrived today with a lovely paint scrape down the side of the opening of the steelbook, can see the metal where the paint used to be,gutted.

That doesn't look right to me, the border should be debossed all the way round. I would definatly class that as a defect.

Yh I just double checked mine and its the same. Another 500 with a defect but I prefer this defect than a scratch.

Received mine today too... The colour of Tom's face is a slightly different shade - more grey than blue, so should be easy to tell the two runs apart - both seem to have slashes along the whole length of the spine, but on closer inspection it looks like it's only on the plastic wrap and hasn't reached the steel.

Just Received my JR steels

I am a bit confused about the de-bossed border it seems flat on the right hand side.Wondering did i receive a defected steel and ask for a replacement or all the steels have it.

did capture some pics of the flat side.Along the line the de bossing disappears .

I've had the exact same issue with both my MI & MI3 steels, couldn't notice it once the shrink wrap had been taken off and wasn't worth sending them back for a replacement as I got all 3 for a bargain and would probably cost me more to return them than the steels itself lol.

I've noticed this problem on a few steelbooks with the embossed borders, so I actually think it's quite common... either that or I've just been very unlucky with the majority of my steels lol. Personally I wouldn't say it's worth kicking up a fuss about though, as it's barely noticeable IMO.

Got my second copy today and although both my original copy and this new copy are both still sealed it appears that the first copy has a much bluer finish on TC

my replacement came today, and Tom face is definatley grey compared to blue on the first release. At least now theres a way of telling the two issues apart.

Ouch " why me ".
My replacement arrived today (yippee), but it has a spine slash from top to bottom. Contacted Luke @ E.S today & promptly received this email back :

Thanks for your email, and I'm sorry to hear that your replacement Jack Reacher steelbook has arrived damaged.
I'll get a replacement copy dispatched to you ASAP. In the meantime, can you please return the damaged one to:
