Prometheus was 3d and Blu Ray hence the high price.

Prometheus was also sold pretty much at cost, despite the high price to get a good relationship for steelbook collectors and consumers.

But hey, what do I know.

Paramount seldom disappoints but the pricing is way too high and comparing this with Prometheus doesn't make sense at all. (1 BD Vs 3D / 2D / Bonus BD) and a better movie too.

Believe or do not believe - the more you order from a studio (assuming you can do so), the less you pay per unit.

I think that's pretty much common sense.

Agreed. Same with posting stuff abroad. The more in the package the lesser the average shipping cost per Steel.

To me this is simply out of my budget range as there is nothing special about this release. If this got a special slip or at least numbered then I might have caved in.

For all members outside of the UK worrying about sourcing a copy - there is going to be a group buy for this.

It will be very limited (as is the nature of this release), but at least you will have the option of joining another great HDN group buy!!

When I first saw the price, I was like Easy Pass

but now I've read the whole thread, new company only exclusive, low print run, good customer service, sounds like good packaging, I've preordered. got to give the guys a chance and may lead to more exclusives which is a good thing

Understood. Prometheus was 8k run ... when this qty gets announced (if we ever get permission to) I think it would make more sense.

People are willing to pay $60 for a Blurans release but not £27.99 for this even though print runs are similar. I'm sure Skyfall has proved that people are willing to pay extra to get a good UK version rather than one with foreign text. I'm sure it would be safe to preorder and have the option to move it on at no loss if you desired.

Well what an interesting 9 pages of thread on this, so I figured I read this much - and ordered

I too am one of the few who open and watch all my steels but look after them very very well - I cherish them, you could say. So, not seen the movie and I figured this is 2 cinema seats plus drinks/snacks - why not!

Was lucky enough to see Rosamund Pike in a play some years back and she was full frontal naked for one scene. Quite lovely, so if she's in this, I'm there :boobies:
