Old infos:
Note About Ordering From Entertainment Store said:
They will ONLY DELIVER TO UK ADDRESSES AT THE MOMENT.

A way around this: (confirmed by retailer thats its ok)

1) Order directly but add a UK HDN members address for delivery
OR
2) Ask a UK HDN member to kindly order it for you

So please be careful when ordering because if you've put an address outside the UK your order will be most likely be cancelled by Play.

I will be amazed if any of these don't have the scratch. I appreciate that some people don't go over every steel with a meticulous eye, but I personally do. Most steels have a defect of some description, paint chip, particle under the paint, hairline scratch etc.

All I wanted to establish was if this was a.manufacturing issue and I believe it is. As such, its not a fault of the retelailer and IMO its not worth returning them.
I am disappointed that a £28 steel has a fault, but hey ho. Im sure the blufans release will have the same issue

Surely they are produced in differnt factory not the Danish ones and they don't have European (wherever) numpties slashing open boxes of virgin Steels.

This scratch issue is a real shame and I would guess its the whole lot that are faulty. Had another look at it this morning and I'm going to keep hold of it as I think any replacement will likely have the same fault. Will be interesting to see if the Blufans version has the same issue. It does surprise me that these were allowed to be sent out. For all we know ES could of got this batch because of the fault on the cheap and that's how they got their "exclusive" has anyone got a copy without the mark ? I really hope that's not the case but for now I'm sticking with the one I got.

That sounds quite feasible. It would explain the low number. Factory 2nds.
In S.E. Asia retailers are always passing off factory 2nds as new.

saw mine straight away thought it was on the shrinkwrap........ gutted at that price point it should be perfect cannot believe people saying they are not bothered .... you buy a new tv or car and its scratched or damaged is that ok :(

Not at all feasible. If you think about all of the problems we've had with manufacturing defects in the last few months, this proves there are no factory seconds when it comes to Steelbook production :hilarious:

I thought mine didn't have it, but looking at it t night with a light on it, at an angle, there is a faint line. As noted, from the last R in reacher, down to the bbfc logo.

I'm pretty sure every copy will have it, as they'll all have been manufactured at the same time at the same facility. I think the line is actually harder to spot in daylight - I only noticed it under artificial light and on closer inspection.

Even though most will be keeping theirs, I bet this must be a real headache for the Entertainment Store, as it seems unlikely they'll be able to offer unmarked copies to unhappy customers.

Just checked my copy, it has the scratch as well :(

As they all have it, will they still be as valuable in trades? I don't really have any rare steels so was hoping to finally have a decent trading chip.

Definitely looks like a manufacturing issue it keeps the same distance from the de bossing edge all along its length and it starts at the exact same spot on all of my copy's

Not the easiest to take a pic of but after you find it you then cant miss it, The pic's don't show it but it runs from the R all the way to the rating logo. I would like to see if anyone actually has a copy without this slight scratch.

Has the print run been confirmed on this? I'm seeing a few saying 900, is that accurate?

In my opinion, this faint line shouldn't affect anything. Including value. Not that value is top of my list on this one, more the rarity (though the two do eventually go hand in hand)

The majority of us didn't even see it until we started shining artificial lights on them from the right angle and catching a glimpse of what is a very faint and minor manufacturing issue.

I have 2 copies displayed front on. I can't see the line on either of them unless I put them under operating theatre lights. But it seems Pud has done well to capture it in a photo, which exaggerates it's prominence. It really is very hard to see.

I'm very interested to see whether the other European releases have this too

900 seems high imo. It sold out very quickly (2.5 days I think). 500 or less and this faint line issue will quickly be less of a concern

I think it's unlikely Entertainment Store got a dedicated run for this small quantity, so it seems likely it is the same run as the rest of Europe (and possibly even the world since the artwork is the same)

I have just had a look on Ebay to see how many scalpers have listed this, I am actually very shocked to see that there are only 10 for sale and of these only 4 are the Entertainment Store version. This really suprised me as I would have expected dozens of copies to appear EEK!

I think the fact this is limited and quite expensive put scalpers off.....

Thankfully!

I'm sure Andy (apsmith) confirmed somewhere in here that Entertainment Store bought these directly from Paramount to sell in the UK, hence the English j-card and UK rating sticker.

EDIT: Yep, he did...

1) No, this a UK only run
2) Yes, he did pay Paramount for these.
