Yeah man, while I would never in a million years refuse the HDZ Jaws as a gift or contest win, it seems clear to me it is not the apex of offerings this film, The Greatest Movie of All Time, illicits from these varied retailers. It's not much better than the Zavvi, which also didn't get me enthralled.

t seems to me the FAC has the edge, just by it's card assortment that's included, but finish of product can be everything and quite a lot of Ninja's have come on and spoken to the glory of CM. Plus I don't think we've seen the cards yet, or the special gift, which I'm guessing isn't a transparent slip since it has the Lenti.

I've only been compelled to pull my trigger on this twice, once was FAC which I pressed the moment it went live and still didn't get it, and there is this one who's slip I find quite appealing. I do enjoy how some of these slips have the differing colors of the ocean for the iconic shot.

I agree with a lot of this @jaws finatic, I have the HDZ on order, although that was at a time when it was HDZ or zavvi and I went with HDZ as its bound to be a better finish and overall better product IMO. Then FAC came along, tried as I might I couldn't get one either, and came close a few times to biting the bullet on ebay at a large price increase. I went back and forth with FAC and CM for a while as to which one to get, but considering that the iconic front has been used everywhere (I have a signed one sheet poster of it, and the limited edition release (attached), and the original steelbook version!), I decided to go with something different.

Plus it goes nicely with my bruce shark! HDZ is still on order, and agree its not looking the best, if it was choice between FAC and HDZ i'd have FAC but i'm happy with CM (and still has the iconic poster on the lenticular). Jaws, and the Shining are the only films I'd double dip for I think. I'm glad you're happy with your choice - I remember seeing lots of your posts in the FAC thread!

It's borderline insulting for you both to compare HDZ with Zavvi. One is a premium product, the other one is not. The quality of the HDZ will, without a doubt, be superior to the Zavvi, how could it not? The quality of the slip, the lenti... even the way in which they are shipped.

No arguments from me, I considered it for about.....5 seconds due to my finances at the time. Thankfully my finances improved.

Nope, sorry—once you get these two going back and forth about "FAC is best/HDZ is best," you're in for at least three more pages of it. By bringing Zavvi into the mix, we may have found a way to reconcile the irreconcilable, if only briefly, though.

I wonder when this will have a release date. I'll more than likely be in Florida for some time this winter. Maybe getting back in April. Could have to employ the Post Office Hold. Thankfully I live in a small town and know the manager of the PO.

Last I counted it was about 11 months. They have since released a couple of them, not sure if completely or just some clients got them, so they might now be down to 9-10 months.

Generally and with COVID it has been a guessing game and some are now in the 1 year category. Jaws supposed to be Feb 2021, but take that lightly. On the positive they are often superb editions.
