I didn't realise the variation in size between the full and lenticular slips!

Lenti from part 1 and Full slip from part 2 don't go together side by side on the shelf....

View attachment 325033

Two lentis together works better.....

Although the full slip does fit in with my other full slips.....

It's always been like that from nova

Lenti o rings are thinner than a normal full slip from them. All their o rings are all the same size and same with all their full slips

That's normal lot of full slips will be taller than a lenti o-ring
It's when you have a lenti full slip that will be same size as a full slip

Lot of my lenti o-ring slips are smaller than my full slips some are sightly smaller in height to lot more

@BluSteel2012 you didn't know the lenti is an O-Ring all this time??!
I know what an O Ring is, I have no real problem with them if I'm honest. But I never realised that the full slips were taller.

I usually only buy one edition as I open and watch all my steelbooks, but I couldn't decide between these two when ordering so I got both!

I only have the lenti from part 1 so I'm not sure what to do as I didn't realise they were different sizes!

Thickness doesn't really bother me, but one taller than the other looks really bad!

I don't understand why you wouldn't realize that. The o-ring top and bottom edge is pretty much flush with the steel whereas with the full slip you would have the additional height of the thick cardboard at the top and bottom of the steel. Hardly rocket science(n)(n)

This steelbook isn't very photogenic, but it does look very nice in hand. I would've preferred a debossed title, but I think leaving it flat and glossy to match the first is fine.

The guns on the front of the steel and the (tiny) ring on the back all have a bit of a metallic sheen that looks pretty sharp when the light catches them.

The lenti itself is quite good. It's sharper than the original, but the slightly out of focus background (Keanu) of the original enhanced the depth effect (as did the little floating orbs), so I think it's a toss up as to which is better. I lean more towards the depth and pop of the original, but I can also appreciate the crispness of the second.

Overall, I'm very happy with this release. I was prepared to be disappointed after seeing how drab it appeared in photos, but was pleasantly surprised when I got it in hand. Certainly a worthy partner for the original. :coffee:

Now if only I can find time to watch the actual film itself. Here's hoping it's as good as the first.

My full slip B arrived today:

It's not easy to take decent pictures of it with shrink wrap on. I'll decide which edition I unseal once the lenti slip from the GB has arrived as well (likely tomorrow).
Anyway, I tried. Have a look.

I'm not sure yet if I like it or not. The backside doesn't appeal to me, it looks a bit cheap, especially because of the bullet holes. The front is okay I guess; it really depens how the light is shining on it. Maybe full slip A would have been the better choice after all, because of that "disco look" (which actually suits the movie well). :) @Huguito
