I'm guessing they don't go searching around for any stray unaccounted for copies. So "find me a copy" must mean they sold you one of the copies they probably hold aside for exchanges for any defective/damaged ones?

Absolutely! I would have just assumed out of stock means out of luck. But lesson learned. As you said, doesn't hurt to try! Happy for you that got one.

[Notice] Nova Exclusive #11 <Kill Bill Vol.1> Box Set Delay Announcement

Dear Customers,
Our upcoming Nova Exclusive #11 <Kill Bill Vol1.> Box Set release will be delayed. As we've announced before, the paper we used for the box was themed from the assassins group "Deadly Viper" and it has snake skin pattern (Leathack Paper). Unlike the papers we've used before, we had many difficulties with printing. While we were making samples, we didn't have any problems but with mass production, we had high defect rate with 1st, 2nd and even 3rd batch of production. Instead of hurrying up the release, we wanted to reprint the boxes and send the good quality products to our customers. Therefore, we've decided to delay our release date. We expect the release date to be in Late April and exact release date will be announced again. We are sorry for the delay for the Box Set but the rest of editions (Full Slip A, Full Slip B, Lenticular Slip) will be released on April 21st according to the schedule.

I don't think anyone who's visited this thread in the last four months has any doubt how you feel about the Zavvi steels.
One more mention of them and I'll have to add "Zavvi's (super) glossy Kill Bill steelbooks" to the lgans316 bingo card.

As for this release, I folded and went for the one-click. The box itself just looks too sweet.
Here's hoping the inevitable Vol 2 box is equally appealing.
