based on the current trend of using the standard blu ray art as cover (toy story3,dumbo,fantasia) this will be the cover art

Imo that cover art is pretty good, especially compared to many of the other titles (and it's better than most of the other LatT home video releases). And it's based on that iconic scene.

A smaller title would be nice...

FYI-From our contacts at Zavvi directly-Peter Pan, Dumbo and Lady & The Tramp have a 4,000 qty print run (and yes I will add it to the OP), and there are absolutely no plans to increase the print runs. As I said many times before, we are lead to believe that a very hard lesson was taken away from the Jungle Book. Peter & Dumbo are sold out, and any cancellations may go on sale next year, as of now.

Considering the release date for this, I assume it's due to go on sale fairly soon? Maybe this weekend or next? Surprised they didn't put it up with the other two as, with the date still three months away, people may as well pre-order now. Plenty of chance to save up then after the festive period.

Any prizes for those who correctly guessed this? :D

I already have this on order when it was live for a few hours when originally listed and not knowing what I ordered and got 10% off as well :D

I wonder when will we see the artwork and when will it officially go live and what other releases will we see in the new year been listed

hhmmm thought they would have stuck the art up on it by now to then allow pre-ordering following day, pan art was up a few days before!

Digitalbabe have you heard if this is up this weekend or as the art isn't up yet more like weekend after just where my thinking is going if you see what i'm saying???

cheers

4000 is hardly limited *sigh* silly Zavvi

limited
adjective
1. restricted in size, amount, or extent; few, small, or short.
"a limited number of places are available"

Zavvi print more copies than their warehouses can hold and collectors moan. Zavvi print a very reasonable (some might say insufficient) number of copies and the same collectors are moaning again

4000 is hardly limited *sigh* silly Zavvi

Warner releases "limited collector's editions" with print-runs of 150.000 (ben hur) or even 250.000 (sound of music), and i guess the usual disney amaray editions have print-runs of some million copies, it's correct from zavvi to call these titles limited.
well, they over-do it a bit by calling it "ultra limited", but considering the other two titles selling out within 5 days, and the popularity of disney steelbooks in general, i think even that is right somehow.

If you think about it 4000 is a good number. With the popularity of steelbooks only increasing 4000 today isn't the same as 4000 2-3 years ago. So IMO it's still very limited

4000 is limited but suprised that fantasia is still in stock with 5K. Wreck it ralph took alot longer too. 1000 copies takes much longer to sell out. 4K less than a week 5k a few months?

2-3 years ago there wasnt dozens of people buying 5 or more at a time just to sell them on ebay, if this was limited to one per person it would still be in stock after the release date. The only difference between now and 2-3 years ago is the amount of re sellers, these will be all over ebay for a couple of quid over retail on buy it nows. It hasnt sold out because its popular with collectors its sold out because its popular with scalpers. So in my opinion 4000 now isnt any different to 4000 2-3 years ago its still not very limited, just limited, its not like they have sold out and we not going to be able to get one now. feel free to disagree

There are way more collectors now than there were when I started collecting. Fact. These sold out partly because of scalpers but mainly because Disney is an incredibly popular brand loved by film fans all over the World.

I agree there are more collectors but at the same time the amount of collectors hasnt gone up as much the amount of steels being released, i know disney is popular but im betting half of these at least end up on the bay, theres no way most of these have gone to collectors that have bought 1 copy each, i would say its sold out MAINLY due to people ordering in bulk for resale and parly because its disney and collectors have grabbed a copy. No different to any other popular steel, junglebook and little mermaid havent sold out because the scalpers know theres no money in them because of the print run so they jump on the lower runs like this and thats why it sells out. You dont REALLY think this has sold out because collectors have bought most of them seriously? Well we will have to agree to disagree :scat::D

I agree that there are more scalpers now but I also know that there are more collecters now too. I believe that at this point we are talking about prices and values. Scalpers wouldn't be in business if there was no demand for steelbooks. There's is a larger demand then before. If your a new collecter just getting into the game then you'll probably be paying scalpers while you are playing catch up. The way I see it 4000 is still circulating, it just a matter of who your getting it from and how much it's going to cost you.
