It still says ultra limited run. I can't remember it saying 4k though...

Has anyone noticed that Lady and the Tramp, Peter Pan, Dumbo and a few others have lost the sentence from their respective Zavvi page promising they are limited to 4,000 copies?

Starting to feel like we've been sold a fairy story?

I am!

I agree with justboy. I don't recall these latest 3 Disney releases actually stating 4K on the product pages of Zavvi's website, though I do feel like I've seen 4K from third-party sources when the news came out of these releases.

Can anyone provide a more definite answer to this?

I may be remembering wrong, but I seem to recall 4,000 being quoted.

On the latest page for Peter Pan it doesn't even say 'Ultra Limited' any more, so something seems to be amiss.

I honestly don't read the product descriptions on most sites, so I don't remember what the text said for the Disneys. However, we were told that they would be the quantity stated in the 1st post.

I have several on order, except Fantasia (not really a fan of the back) and a few of the Pixars which I just won't rewatch. But now that gloss is back, I am personally pretty excited about what may may come. I know what # 16 is, but unfortunately can't share any more info yet-hopefully we can announce soon. I'll wait to see what I think the matte ones in hand. My wife is a huge Disney Classic fan, and these are nicer than the DVD's we have of some not out on BD, so these will make a nice addition to our Disney films, for me personally.

here's a couple of side by sides I did with the amerays/slips

Dumbo doesnt look too bad (especially considering the holographic finish), but there's a definite drop in colour for LATT. The ameray is much brighter/vibrant, especially on the title characters and the spag-bol :(

still prefer the artwork on the steel, just feels dull, along with Peter Pan - those 2 needed to be glossed.

Being something of a completist, and having loved Fantasia since my Mum took me to see it in Manchester when I was a kid, I bought it. It's actually rather nice in hand.
I have all the pre-orders on order, and all of the others in hand except Planes, not one I took to.

I suspect no. 16 will be Pinocchio - or maybe that's just wishful thinking.

Talking of which - Pinocchio that is, there was an excellent article in Sight and Sound some time ago where Peter Capaldi (the New Doctor Who) waxes lyrical about the 'wooden one'; his favourite Disney - mine too, truth told :)

Received my copy of this today.
The artwork and the embossing look great.
Compared it to Aladdin and it pales by comparison.
The vibrant purple and gloss of the Aladdin steel is quite something I feel.

LOVE IT.

But I really have to start limiting my multiple dip addiction....lol.

I know what you mean I am up to 4 versions of the lion king on blu ray alone.

to me it looks shiny like it shimmers in the light. the only thing i don't like is the simple back. its also region free if anybody was wondering. everybody is entitled to there opinion i don't think it looks bad with out the gloss and im just lucky we got a lady and the tramp steelbook

Lady and the Tramp - UK - Custom Glossed (double coat)

Once again these pictures are taken from a distance. There is a considerable difference in colors and details in hand post glossing. For instance, you may never get the sheen with the original finish like seen in the last 2 pics.

It looks really good. Are you willing to share how you do it ? I actually have no idea.

Not as bright as the OP art, but better than I expected from non-glossy. Embossing is really unnecessary if they are only embossing the title badge which results in a box going through the art to get the embossed effect. More embossing would have been worse. Their efforts would have been better served with a flat but glossy steel. And the size of their front slips have gone overboard just to get 3 badges on the side of the slip. Scanovo can do better. When FS vaporized, I lost interest in this title. I didn't care for the clip I saw. But I'm glad to have the steelbook. More than decent execution. A keeper.

paulboland's pictures do it justice.
