Major update from Choi 7/13/2013: [Mod. Edit: PLEASE READ]

Today I officially announced the pre-order date & time for 2nd round
as I said before, Kimchi will fix pre-order date & time based on UK time zone.:scat:

London (United Kingdom - England) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 13:00:00 BST UTC+1 hour
Seoul (South Korea) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 21:00:00 KST UTC+9 hours
Vancouver (Canada - British Columbia) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 05:00:00 PDT UTC-7 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 08:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours
Paris (France) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 14:00:00 CEST UTC+2 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 12:00:00

-1x copy per slipcover (2x copies for slipcover was sold out too fast like 7 min, That's why kimchi put more restriction for quarter slip release)
-5x copies per lenticular

here is technical problem solved so far

after you pay via paypal, you will automatically return to main page of kimchidvd and you can go to order page to check if your order is completed.

(previous kimchi, does not provide automatic payment completed by paypal, only kimchi handle one by one to complete order by manually matched with paypal transaction. it's kind of big burden and many problem happened)

and another announcement for shipping

Small packet is removed, K-packet applied for all of item sold in kimchidvd
K-packet is slightly expensive than small packet but there is lots of benefits

- Printed slip with tracking number
- End-to-End tracking with delivery confirmation (No lost shipment)
- Reasonable cost than EMS
- generally takes 5-15 days (EMS: 5-10 days, Small packet 15 -35 days)

but some member are curious why kimchidvd changed shipping method

From T2 kimchi release, Kimchi handled more than 1,000 box to ship out to post office KR, this is a big volume of post office KR to handle only for one store.

so post office does not allow kimchi to accept small packet any more :(
and asked kimchi to change K-packet rather than small packet due to too many package in one or two day.

after changed of k-packet, pack & shipping process is much more faster than small packet and very reliable shipping method in terms of tracking.

even now, some of member did not received T2 kimchi after shipping process done at 26th June because no tracking available for small packet.

1 or 2 steelbook for shipping charge between small packet & k-packet is only difference around 2$

please kindly understand kr post office policy for massive volume of shipment like over 1,000 boxes and more powerful tracking for lost shipment protection.

Thanks

well im having to think if i want a copy if there raising the price, i see no need for a price raise apart from it meaning Kimchi are scalping just like ebay shocking really.

LOL $3 more is not 'scalping' by any stretch....they said for a while the price would be higher...we can barely get a UK release to the US undented for that cost, and many retailers have special pricing on new items within certain periods and later raise prices...happens every week with new release Blu-Rays and many other items across the net (Pre-order promos, etc etc).

if i'm not mistaken,the original pre-order price is $44.99 and the $41.99 was just a promotional price only,which means...technically speaking,they're NOT raising the pre-order price ;)

Why do many ignore the fact that the price was always set at $44.99 from the very beginning. This was in the OP when Mehdi posted it. A certain amount was made available for early pre order at a discounted price of $41.99. Everyone knew this was the case. It seems based on how the initial pre order went, a change has been made to ensure as many get the opportunity to get a slip version of this.

Quite honestly all these complaints are just a case of sour grapes. YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE If you sourced one during the initial pre order window...congrats. Either way I do not see how Kimchi has mishandled this at all. They were very clear from the beginning and on pre order day 1, there were plenty in the UK and Europe that got their orders in

Well u can't be more wrong then this!!! Im just speechless !

not really mate thats the way i see it, ok fair enough maybe they arent as bad as ebays was a bit to much but im sorry there is no need for a $3 increase regardless of wether they told us.

because if you multiply that $3 extra y how many copies left thats alot of money extra, there is no need.

Everyone knew the order quantities for both the slip and lenticular versions. We all know that many order multiple(s) to sell on later and for trading purposes. Is it a surprise the initial offer sold out so quickly? IMO, NO. It is a sought after title so this was always bound to be a quick seller. As for empathizing for those who missed out, I quite don't see your reasoning as still has some 1500 or so more copies that will be made available. I will have empathy for those who find out about this after it is sold out because they were not part of the forum.

I agree with this. Sometimes I think people using these threads as a Twitter feed for updates takes too much precedence over the truth that this is a discussion thread on a forum. Catering to that idea causes a lot of posts to get deleted that I think are all naturally part of the discussion of a steelbook release.

agreed, BUT in moderation.

and as far as the price goes, omfg it was stated literally 2 weeks ago how they were going to price it. The same damn thing happened with t2 and no ones whining or complaining about that.

GET OVER IT, we pay an extra $5 per steel (standard shipped) for an amazing steelbook which has been treated properly and will be shipped AND BOXED properly

Now we know how fast the initial volume sold, shouldn't that mean the next wave sells out at a similar speed (1/4 slips at least):-

1 - Choi confirmed the 2nd wave would be live on a more European friendly time
2 - lots of people missed out first time round that has put pressure on those people to make sure they get in on the 2nd wave
3 - existing buyers will try and purchase even more now they have seen the demand for these in the 1st via secondary accounts

Basically what I'm thinking is that the second wave will get snapped up really quickly as well :D

the quarter slips will go first and quick, because of the number, 500. the lenticulars, which i prefer, will sell out, probably not at the rate of the first batch, but this is a great, hot, quality release. all those bland zaavi releases are driving demand for the good stuff.

...Now I don't know about you as a collector/ seller, but for me, I'd be sick spending that kind of money ($500-$2K) then this Kimchi release comes out that ***** all over the JP one..... (2 versions, lenticular cover, 500 for the quarter.... and a dolphin holder thrown in as well) Tony's created Christmas in July, happy days!

First off - :welcome: to the HDN forums!

Secondly - I completely missed all the special features added to this package of which the most surprising and intriguing is the dolphin holder for ALL COPIES!!! DAMN! :oohyeah:

Limited edition features:
Limited to 2000
Available outside KimchiDVD: NO!
Numbered: Yes (numbers to be given randomly)
Exclusive Sticker: Yes
Exclusive contents: Artcard with dolphin holder for the ALL copies.
Extras items: Photo Cards or Booklet (TBC)
Slipcover: Quarter Slip to Match the Artwork of the Steelbook/Lenticular Slipcover (2 versions of the release will be offered)
Special Treatment: Debossed Title and Hyper-Gloss Finish on 90% artwork confirmed
Per Choi: Only debossed title, No boarder

Indeed Kimchidvd has made this a Christmas in September special :scat::scat:

Hope someone can help me , but if the second batch goes live next week during the day in the uk i'm on lates again no internet access at work , would somebody grab us a copy :)
