Today I officially announced the pre-order date & time for 2nd round
as I said before, Kimchi will fix pre-order date & time based on UK time zone.:scat:

London (United Kingdom - England) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 13:00:00 BST UTC+1 hour
Seoul (South Korea) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 21:00:00 KST UTC+9 hours
Vancouver (Canada - British Columbia) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 05:00:00 PDT UTC-7 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 08:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours
Paris (France) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 14:00:00 CEST UTC+2 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 12:00:00

-1x copy per slipcover (2x copies for slipcover was sold out too fast like 7 min, That's why kimchi put more restriction for quarter slip release)
-5x copies per lenticular

here is technical problem solved so far

after you pay via paypal, you will automatically return to main page of kimchidvd and you can go to order page to check if your order is completed.

(previous kimchi, does not provide automatic payment completed by paypal, only kimchi handle one by one to complete order by manually matched with paypal transaction. it's kind of big burden and many problem happened)

and another announcement for shipping

Small packet is removed, K-packet applied for all of item sold in kimchidvd
K-packet is slightly expensive than small packet but there is lots of benefits

- Printed slip with tracking number
- End-to-End tracking with delivery confirmation (No lost shipment)
- Reasonable cost than EMS
- generally takes 5-15 days (EMS: 5-10 days, Small packet 15 -35 days)

but some member are curious why kimchidvd changed shipping method

From T2 kimchi release, Kimchi handled more than 1,000 box to ship out to post office KR, this is a big volume of post office KR to handle only for one store.

so post office does not allow kimchi to accept small packet any more :(
and asked kimchi to change K-packet rather than small packet due to too many package in one or two day.

after changed of k-packet, pack & shipping process is much more faster than small packet and very reliable shipping method in terms of tracking.

even now, some of member did not received T2 kimchi after shipping process done at 26th June because no tracking available for small packet.

1 or 2 steelbook for shipping charge between small packet & k-packet is only difference around 2$

please kindly understand kr post office policy for massive volume of shipment like over 1,000 boxes and more powerful tracking for lost shipment protection.

Thanks

Update #2 7/10/2013 from Choi:

5x limit per order for lenticular

I have to say that I completely agree with Zelos and Snooloui here.

To have a first wave of preorder set at a lower price and then raise the price by $3 for a second preorder wave is disappointing.

I missed out on the order because of the timing as well. Never thought I'd have to sit with a stopwatch and buy it right when it went live because T2 was less print run and last much longer.

The problem here is that KimchiDVD let people order too many of these. As Snooloui said, this is not fair to people who just want to order one and checked only hours after it went live to find it's gone and will be available next round for $3 + $2 more for one steelbook. On an already $41.99 steelbook, that's a 12% increase.

And for those that can't tell that I am talking specifically about this Le Grand Bleu steelbook and tell me to put this comment in the retailer thread, that doesn't make any sense. Everything in my reply here is about this specific steelbook release from KimchiDVD.

looks like kimchi are finally getting this sorted out. just received an email saying thank you for the order. gave invoice # and details of my order. i can breathe easy now.

As I've said before all limited print run Korean steels are a case of staying tuned and getting in there quick. Anyone who ordered the White Batman Steels will know what I am on about and they went on sale at 3AM UK time!Yes the time for this wasn't great for everyone but it is what it is and was announced in advance.

As for the price increase, this was also said well in advance of yesterday so everyone had fair warning. At least they're not like Zavvi who can't replace peoples damaged copies of Aladdin only to have them put up again for £6 more.

Also, Kimchi limited the orders to 2 for the quarter slip and 3 for the Lenticular last night. That seem reasonable. Even more so when you read the comments on here of people not even buying that many and only getting one of each. Again other retailers let you order 5 or more before they cap it so 3 max of one sku is fine.

I ordered one of each but separate order. My first order has come up as incomplete (lenticular) and the second order (1/4) was successful. Paypal says both went through. So what to do?

1. reply via email even though outlook says red alert
2. reply via kimichi website
3. do nothing and hope that they fix the problem

You mean to tell me that a business is in it to make a profit? Who woulda thought? God forbid that they make some good coin for their labor. The high price is justified because of the low quantity. Nothing wrong with that. Most collectible things are based on this model. What's all this crying about scalpers buying up all these copies? It says clearly (in red) that it is 2 copies per customer. I should know, because I managed to get 2 copies of the 1/4 slip version. I don't know where all these other bloated numbers are coming from. As for the time of this release, all I can say is there's some winners, and some losers. It was released at 6 PM where I reside, so I have no complaints. You can't please everyone. Blame the Earths rotation if you have a problem with this. As for all these weird messages about order not processed, all I can say is my status says "payment complete". So if yours don't say that, there might be a bit of problem for you. looks like I get the job of defending Kimchi in this thread lol. A bit of a role reversal it would seem.

Why is the whole 'business' argument always used against comments such as my own? Everyone knows that a business' main aim is to make as much money as possible, but that doesn't mean they can't provide a unique experience for its customers. The 'bloated numbers' come from what was posted here i.e. that each customer would be limited to three copies of the 1/4 slip and five copies of the lenticular slip. As for the timing, well to make it fair they could've made two batches available at the preorder price so that every person had a fair chance.

I usually respect your opinion stevo, but in this instance I believe you are wrong.

I e-mailed them and had them invoice me a new PayPal however I have now multiplie payments completed for the same order and no answer from Kimchi.

I just got an email from kimchi saying your order has not completed. And we are going to cancel and delete. I checked my Paypal account and payment has been received and gone through.

Exact same issue for me. The PayPal payment has definitely gone through and the funds debited from my account. But I'm getting a payment not completed email with a cancel and delete notice from Kimchidvd. Not good..!

Will investigate further...

Same as me, i have sent a screenshot from paypal showing the completed transactions and told them not to cancel as the problem is on their end

Have emailed Tony and await reply.

Same here. Seems to be a common problem. Hopefully it's easily resolved.

My Paypal payment went through and I received an order info from Kimchi on 7.30a.m. CEST.

I am sure they will sort it out and everybody gets his/her copy.

Emailed Tony a copy of the PayPal receipt as proof of payment.

I prefer to think at this stage that Kimchidvd will be able to resolve the issue, which is clearly at their end. I'm really hoping no further action will be necessary.

It would be good if someone closer to Kimchidvd could chip in here and explain what went wrong. A major retailer shouldn't be having issues like this.

Because you keep bringing it up (1 sentence, 2nd paragraph your OP). IMO, Kimchi is going out of their way to provide a great experience for its collectors. Such as limiting the quantity to 500, numbering it as well. As my man with the master plan (Choi) says, the 2nd batch will cater to all you good European folks, in term of release time. This IMO goes above and beyond what is necessary. They are a Korean company, why the hell should they work on UK time? What does it matter to them if a person from the UK, or the US buy their product? So consider yourself lucky that they are nice enough to accommodate your needs. I have no problems with them raising the price. The original price was a promotional price, everyone knew that weeks in advance. Don't be crying if you missed out. As far as I'm concerned, the limit was 2 per customer, as it is clearly stated in Kimchi's website. Is there some kinda discrepancy I'm not aware of?

to me it looks like someone might of hacked there email or something and is trying to get us to make another payment to there account, i might be wrong but thats how it looks to me.

Any number of things could be happening here. I have locked the thread, and encourage you to contact them directly with your specific issue. At this point no one has any reason to believe these multiple payments, etc are caused by some deliberate act by Kimchi. So before the thread continues to explode without any first party facts received from the company itself, I am locking this one for now. Anyone close to Kimchi, or perhaps part of their Staff that happens to see these comments, please PM me, and we can re-open the thread once there is more factual clarity. I've also contacted Choi separately to allow him or another representative of Kimchi to respond themselves (I'll re-open the thread as soon as I hear from them). Thanks.

Hey guys-re-opening the thread as some members PM'ed me and are getting e-mails from Tony saying that their payments are verified and all is ok. I've still reached out to Choi as well, but feel free to post if you are having a similar experience.
