Major update from Choi 7/13/2013: [Mod. Edit: PLEASE READ]

Today I officially announced the pre-order date & time for 2nd round
as I said before, Kimchi will fix pre-order date & time based on UK time zone.:scat:

London (United Kingdom - England) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 13:00:00 BST UTC+1 hour
Seoul (South Korea) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 21:00:00 KST UTC+9 hours
Vancouver (Canada - British Columbia) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 05:00:00 PDT UTC-7 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 08:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours
Paris (France) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 14:00:00 CEST UTC+2 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 12:00:00

-1x copy per slipcover (2x copies for slipcover was sold out too fast like 7 min, That's why kimchi put more restriction for quarter slip release)
-5x copies per lenticular

here is technical problem solved so far

after you pay via paypal, you will automatically return to main page of kimchidvd and you can go to order page to check if your order is completed.

(previous kimchi, does not provide automatic payment completed by paypal, only kimchi handle one by one to complete order by manually matched with paypal transaction. it's kind of big burden and many problem happened)

and another announcement for shipping

Small packet is removed, K-packet applied for all of item sold in kimchidvd
K-packet is slightly expensive than small packet but there is lots of benefits

- Printed slip with tracking number
- End-to-End tracking with delivery confirmation (No lost shipment)
- Reasonable cost than EMS
- generally takes 5-15 days (EMS: 5-10 days, Small packet 15 -35 days)

but some member are curious why kimchidvd changed shipping method

From T2 kimchi release, Kimchi handled more than 1,000 box to ship out to post office KR, this is a big volume of post office KR to handle only for one store.

so post office does not allow kimchi to accept small packet any more :(
and asked kimchi to change K-packet rather than small packet due to too many package in one or two day.

after changed of k-packet, pack & shipping process is much more faster than small packet and very reliable shipping method in terms of tracking.

even now, some of member did not received T2 kimchi after shipping process done at 26th June because no tracking available for small packet.

1 or 2 steelbook for shipping charge between small packet & k-packet is only difference around 2$

please kindly understand kr post office policy for massive volume of shipment like over 1,000 boxes and more powerful tracking for lost shipment protection.

Thanks

Its a little difficult to make a direct comparison Choi, as its not the best lighting, but the colour looks good to me, a brighter blue than the Japanese version, it looks more vibrant. Excited.

Yes, It's little difficult to judge which one is better

In the movie, that scene is not daytime, time after sunset

JP version does not have gradation, it means that it has same gradation from top to bottom

but Kimchi version does have gradation in ocean color so Top is more brighter than bottom and one more thing is gloss vs matte.

That's different and it's kind of personnel taste decision. :D

In day time with sun light, gloss looks awesome with ocean color

if i may add my opinion.i do have a degree in art...lol...yes its true...;)
the spacing between the brighter(top) and the darker(bottom) needs to be blended more.the edge between the light and dark needs to be softer,a more neutral tone in between light and dark.
if you look at the back art, there's better gradation than the front cover.the front can actually be pushed a little bit more.there almost seems to be a hard edge.it needs to be made softer and blended even more so like the back cover.it almost seems like there is a cloud over that part of the water.if that is the case, then the hard edge is then natural to the scene.

P.S.
since the bottom part is darker with the title behind it,the title needs to be a little brighter as well since you don't want it to disappear.making the adjustment to make the lower part of the scene should also mean that the title needs to be just a touch brighter to give me more of a contrast.

I agree with this if there possibility his change can be made. Clean back with no text.

Agreed. It can come off the back, but as long as the title is on the front. Please whatever you do, do not remove the title altogether.

I'd rather have 2 titles vs zero.

Edit: I MUST also add that Kimchi / Choi dam near deserve a standing ovation. To come onto here and post multiple pictures of the protoype prints, ask detailed questions about preference and pay specific attention to try to match the steelbook with the look and feel of the movie attributes, including openly comparing the new steel to the long time grail....

Well... what else can be said. That's seriously awesome service and I will take a finicky website issue with that kind of service over a fine running website and garbage service any day!

Thank you, Choi. :oohyeah:

i agree with the suggestion of urbeenjammin concerning the contrast between dark and blue directly above the title. that blend could be improved a little bit.
and also for me the title just on the front cover would be fine!

but i dont want to be pedantic about that, thanks choi for sharing the pictures with us!
really looking forward to the release date now!

Kimichi version is defiantly more impressive.

I agree with removing the title from the back and perhaps remove the title on the front to and have a clean finish on both sides as the title is included on the slips, quarter with it being in Korean. I think it looks odd with French title and then Korean underneath in quarter version.

Also, if title stays in front of steel, perhaps add Korean title to lent slip?

Great work as always Choi

I like, I like

Thanks for the pics and info Choi

I'll agree with what "urbeenjammin" said in his post on the previous page. It would definitely look better that way :D

Secondly, I also agree with everyone here that the title at the back should be removed for a more aesthetic look even though I'll never get to see the back as I'm gonna keep it sealed, but you just know that what you've got is ONE HELL OF A MASTERPIECE!

Cheers

Great job guys and a big thanks to Tony/Choi for all their continuous help and effort in keeping HDN members part of the development process in making this a top-notch and sought after steelbook among collectors

Choi this is looking great. Thank you for sharing these mock ups with us and seeking our opinions.

I agree with urbeenjammin about adjustments to the front lighting graduation and the suggestions about removing the back titles if possible, but please keep the front title.

So glad this is going to feature a simple de-bossed title, which is the perfect choice in my opinion.
