Major update from Choi 7/13/2013: [Mod. Edit: PLEASE READ]

Today I officially announced the pre-order date & time for 2nd round
as I said before, Kimchi will fix pre-order date & time based on UK time zone.:scat:

London (United Kingdom - England) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 13:00:00 BST UTC+1 hour
Seoul (South Korea) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 21:00:00 KST UTC+9 hours
Vancouver (Canada - British Columbia) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 05:00:00 PDT UTC-7 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 08:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours
Paris (France) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 14:00:00 CEST UTC+2 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 12:00:00

-1x copy per slipcover (2x copies for slipcover was sold out too fast like 7 min, That's why kimchi put more restriction for quarter slip release)
-5x copies per lenticular

here is technical problem solved so far

after you pay via paypal, you will automatically return to main page of kimchidvd and you can go to order page to check if your order is completed.

(previous kimchi, does not provide automatic payment completed by paypal, only kimchi handle one by one to complete order by manually matched with paypal transaction. it's kind of big burden and many problem happened)

and another announcement for shipping

Small packet is removed, K-packet applied for all of item sold in kimchidvd
K-packet is slightly expensive than small packet but there is lots of benefits

- Printed slip with tracking number
- End-to-End tracking with delivery confirmation (No lost shipment)
- Reasonable cost than EMS
- generally takes 5-15 days (EMS: 5-10 days, Small packet 15 -35 days)

but some member are curious why kimchidvd changed shipping method

From T2 kimchi release, Kimchi handled more than 1,000 box to ship out to post office KR, this is a big volume of post office KR to handle only for one store.

so post office does not allow kimchi to accept small packet any more :(
and asked kimchi to change K-packet rather than small packet due to too many package in one or two day.

after changed of k-packet, pack & shipping process is much more faster than small packet and very reliable shipping method in terms of tracking.

even now, some of member did not received T2 kimchi after shipping process done at 26th June because no tracking available for small packet.

1 or 2 steelbook for shipping charge between small packet & k-packet is only difference around 2$

please kindly understand kr post office policy for massive volume of shipment like over 1,000 boxes and more powerful tracking for lost shipment protection.

Thanks

I'm not certain the pre-order re-opening is going to take place, so people passing on their orders may be the only way some members will get this without resorting to Ebay prices

Why are you guys cancelling your orders? I think this will end up being a sought after steelie. Even if you don't want keep it you always use it as a trade chip later on.

You may be right buddy, but how long are Kimchi going to take to deliver these?

@rodtp:

I don't want to support the behavior from kimchi. They start the exclusive line with a great Steelbook for a great price and then they increase the prices 10-20% on every new exclusive and double the releases with two kinds of slipcovers (T2: 35$, LGB: 45$, Tangled: 50$). The last thing is they take the money months before release and then they can't deliver on release date so they push it a month (!!!). This is not okay and this is because I cancelled my preorder of both types of LGB (and lost 9€ with it).

I will use Kimchi for standard releases but not for exclusives and preorders.

I cancelled my copy because nearly £40 for one film is just too much for me personally. The money I recouped from cancelling this will pay for Lifeforce, The Prestige and Team America with a few quid left over. I think that's a justified decision.

why did you lose 9€?did kimchi refund the money as a regular paypal payment and you had to pay 9€ PPfees?

No I prefer a balance between price and quality

I agree. Its nice to have the top quality steels but it gets to the point of them costing to much.

I stopped with normal steel releases and was planning to stick with just limitied releases but prices are just to much for me. Ive got a copy of both on preorder as at the time I couldn't decide which I wanted so I thought get both then trade or sell at cost the version I don't want. Although I've got to the stage where I can't really justify the price. So I'm just thinking of trading my latest release incoming like these and Laurence of Arabia for just cost price and then get normal amaray versions or collector sets, depending on what I prefer.

On the other hand, once in hand these might look good to pass on .

So you prefer quantity over quality?

I don't think it's a matter of that. This release was delayed and because of that, most of us are cancelling, basically because of a second thought.

I really liked this few months ago, not anymore so I'm not paying +$50 for this.

i cancelled two of my ordered lenticulars, because i have to admit i got a bit influenced by the hype when the pre-orderes opened again, and ordered way too many of them. i agree on your opinion totally, but on the other hand i dont want to become a scalper on ebay, dont have the time and ambition for it, and rather let people order from kimchi directly.

+ i still have one lenticular + one quarter slip on pre-order, that's what I need, not more, not less. i just dont need 4 copies of the same steelbook. :)

Hearing about all these cancellations I am just hoping I can catch it again if/when it actually comes back in stock. Really would like to get one of each slip variation for my collection. Fully understand the reason others are canceling, but I personally would rather pay the premium for the a release done right even if there is a delay to get it to that point. Don't want to pay eBay prices, but comparing these to Zavvi Disney/Pixar releases ~$50 each doesn't seem unreasonable to me (and it's a little less then the Blufans ones).

Hopefully Choi will be able to let us know when this will go live again so those of us who missed out get another chance to pick these up. That's part of the value of this community and Ninjas helping each other out.
