Vancouver (Canada - British Columbia) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 05:00:00 PDT UTC-7 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 08:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours

Corresponding UTC (GMT) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 12:00:00

-1x copy per slipcover (2x copies for slipcover was sold out too fast like 7 min, That's why kimchi put more restriction for quarter slip release)
-5x copies per lenticular

here is technical problem solved so far

after you pay via paypal, you will automatically return to main page of kimchidvd and you can go to order page to check if your order is completed.

(previous kimchi, does not provide automatic payment completed by paypal, only kimchi handle one by one to complete order by manually matched with paypal transaction. it's kind of big burden and many problem happened)

and another announcement for shipping

Small packet is removed, K-packet applied for all of item sold in kimchidvd
K-packet is slightly expensive than small packet but there is lots of benefits

- Printed slip with tracking number
- End-to-End tracking with delivery confirmation (No lost shipment)
- Reasonable cost than EMS
- generally takes 5-15 days (EMS: 5-10 days, Small packet 15 -35 days)

but some member are curious why kimchidvd changed shipping method

From T2 kimchi release, Kimchi handled more than 1,000 box to ship out to post office KR, this is a big volume of post office KR to handle only for one store.

so post office does not allow kimchi to accept small packet any more :(
and asked kimchi to change K-packet rather than small packet due to too many package in one or two day.

after changed of k-packet, pack & shipping process is much more faster than small packet and very reliable shipping method in terms of tracking.

even now, some of member did not received T2 kimchi after shipping process done at 26th June because no tracking available for small packet.

1 or 2 steelbook for shipping charge between small packet & k-packet is only difference around 2$

please kindly understand kr post office policy for massive volume of shipment like over 1,000 boxes and more powerful tracking for lost shipment protection.

Thanks

I'm sure Irvine will be happy to hear it as I traded him my JP copy literally only a couple of weeks before this one was announced.

I'm also happy to hear the original release continues to be the best version as I would hate to think he got stuck with something inferior.

I'm sure everyone who has the original Japanese version will have given a huge sigh of relief. In fact I think this will have only made the Japanese one more desirable.

I saw on Blufans a member there posted photos comparing this to the Japanese version. Needless to say the Japan version smokes this for good.

Agree on both counts domalorite...

The finish and the colour of the original Japan version is far superior IMO....:naughty: :D

Well I don't have the original, but the Kimchi version has a high gloss finish that is just incredible IMO. The original must be super killer, if "far superior" than this Kimchi version. And I'm not even counting the debossed title that I'm not too sure that the original has. I know the original is very rare, but I think that 1/4 slip, at only 500 copies might be even rarer than the original. When this title was announced, I did something that I've never done. I predicted that this Kimchi version will kill the going price of the original. Being a serious collector, it actually pains me to say that. The main reason is because the original version was an odd ball, that didn't come factory sealed.

Picture the 2 in a side by side eBay auction. Leave your personal biases behind, what do you see? I see one that is opened, thus considered "used", thus be bidded on accordingly. I see the other one that is factory sealed, thus be considered "brand new", thus be bidded on accordingly. Keep in mind that this is an obscure title that 99% of people never heard of. The numbered card was the final nail in the coffin for the original. As for actual auction prices, I haven't been keeping up, but our very own SunnyX has reported that the original has taken a severe hit. You seem to differ. I'll just sit back and see what the good people decide.

I posted this in another thread and it didn't get anywhere near $500??

Very misleading.that was way after the announcement for the Kimchidvd release.People were already aware of the future release that was coming up.
Since the Kimchidvd release has come out and people had seen the end result and was no way unanimous of bettering the Japan release,Some are saying that once again, the original steelbook release will once again RISE TO THE TOP...or maybe not...lol

USD500 would be for a mint flawless copy, just like any other steelbook at that price point. What you posted has a not so small paint chip in the corner. I just did a search on eBay and this specific item seems to have be resold again a week later for a higher price of GBP135.09

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LE-GRAND-...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Another one sold at below USD500, but again is dented on either side of the spine

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Le-grand-...ook-OOS-RAR-/141105668824?hash=item20da8da2d8

JP Le Grand Bleu has to be perfect mint to reach USD500. You cannot expect an imperfect steelbook to fetch the same price as an OCD mint copy, sealed or not. That goes for any steelbook, not just Le Grand Bleu.

And to continue the discussion of eBaying, an imperfect opened copy of the '99% never heard of title' Japanese Le Grand Bleu has still sold for higher than the average sell price (~GBP70) of the sealed limited 1/4 slip with number card Kimchi version.

Sorry, gonna have to disagree. If you say that the JP version is "better", you gotta list valid reasons why. It can't be because you have 10 copies, and you wish it to be so. You gotta be objective in these matters my friend. Here's why I think the Kimchi version is better:

1) it's factory sealed
2) Amazing deboss lettering
3) a numbered card that removes all doubt as to how many are in existence.
4) it comes with distinguishing stickers and slips, protecting against any future re releases (very critical in this re release happy environment).

See? Those are what I call valid reasons. Now your turn, list the reasons why you think the JP version is better. If the original came factory sealed, or have distinguishing stickers or slips, than it would be a completely different story. But it doesn't, does it? I'm not trying to put the original down, but facts are facts. You seem to think that the general public knows the original didnt come factory sealed. I beg to differ. I think the general public knows 2 things, factory sealed = brand new, opened = used. Having established that, we now only have to figure out which one goes for more money (brand new, or used). And that's how I arrived at my conclusion that the original will suffer a permanent major dent to its value. I'm just the messenger, ultimately it is the people that will decided what happens. I'm known to be wrong......from time to time.

?

To me the colours of the Japanese version are much better. If this version had a pure gloss finish, maybe it would have been better. You should really take a look at the side by side comparisons of the two.

I think the debossing ruins this version more. And I'm surprised no one has mentioned the deboss paint overrun that makes the edges of the text jagged. All my 1/4 slip copies have this problem (yes, I have more than one).

And the value of a damaged Japanese version is still higher than a brand new Kimchi copy.

I will refrain from participating in this discussion further. I've made myself clear on this release since I got it inhand.

And FYI, I do not have the Japanese version.

I dont see how you can compare the two different steelbooks value wise or grail wise fairly at the moment, the jp one has been out ages and is hard to find and now considered a grail and the Kimchi one is easily available as its just been released, you will get a more accurate reflection of there values in a year or two when both are hard to find. If mine doesnt turn up from Kimchi soon its gonna be a grail before it even gets here, :)

I have to admit that this is a beautiful steel but I have zero interest in the movie and therfore can't justify the expense. I will probably regret it when it becomes a grail!
