Lol wasnt the original steel released last year?

What is the point with this one haha. FOX probably have left over stock from last years release so they thought they would release it again minus the lenti.

Drop the friggin 3D logo already -.-
Don't have the movie as a steel but im not going for that printed 3D crap, cant stand it.

I'm fine with my Amazon.co.uk version with the lenticular. The colors on this should be bright and almost metallic if it's anything like the Amazon one.

I always thought that the retailer pays for the exclusives since it brings in more customers.
They get offered an exclusive by the Studio and agree to take all 3000 Stock if they say no then Fox decide to go with a general wide release or try another retailer if their interested or not bother with a release

With Zavvi been the main retailer for steelbooks in the UK they most likely will get asked first
But if its a very popular title then you would see a retailer do a deal to get it over another retailer a good example been James Bond Skyfall

They don't pay for the exclusive as such but agree to take all the stock unless its a big release then its a different matter to get an exclusive

If Fox decide to go with a general release then they are the ones taking the risk as they will depend on orders from all retailers so its more suitable for them to try get a retailer to go with an exclusive so if it don't sell well its the retailer left with unsold stock not Fox

Some releases yes its Zavvi approaching the studio for an exclusive but with the recent increase in steelbook popularity its now the film studios deciding to do a steelbook

I guess after some time the studios simply want to reprint everything. Why a Wave in which every Movie already had a UK Steelbook. And than they release Movies like Thelma & Louise, The Descent 2 and others only in futurepak format, I really don`t understand. Can`t see these titles selling well, but who knows.

How do we know that these won't be lenticular? It is a bit of a coincidence that it is the same bunch of titles that were released as lenticular editions in France/Germany. I haven't seen any confirmation either way from @digitalbabe or any of the other staff and Zavvi aren't known for the accuracy of their product listings.

I just bought the UK lenticular one, new on eBay for £23 delivered. I'm sure it could even go for less than that sometimes so I don't know why someone would preorder the zavvi version, which probably doesn't have the lenticular, for around the same price and then they have to wait over a month to get it. I understand why they are releasing some of the other titles in this wave but not this one.

The classifieds got the UK version for under £16. The Taiwan release can be bought for under £25 at eBay which is less than the cost price. Personally I would buy a clean looking Steel over something with foreign text plastered all over the place and printed back.

And Fox are greedy :)

Can't see myself buying this as I got the Lenticular for ridiculously little money brand new and sealed
