I think it looks stunning. I'm a bit surprised by the slight negativity because a few weeks back we thought it might be the end of Steelbooks in the UK.
We are very lucky to get this if you ask me, it could have been an amaray without a slipcover.

Couldnt agree more! I was expecting a cover with the tigers face which would of been cool but as ive stated elsewhere this was the best visual part of the film and looks superb. I was considering selling off some of my colelction today as its getting to be a pain with all of the non spotless steelbooks around but how can i turn that down!

A bit disappointed about the artwork. The scene in the movie with the whale is beautiful but it isn't a representative image. Something with Richard Parker would have been more suitable.

Yes, I have to agree there. The moment with the whale in the movie is so brief that it seems a misrepresentation to have it as a signature image. I'm not keen on the very large title being overlaid over the head of the whale either.

On the plus side it will be nice to have the first lenticular cover release for the UK, and hopefully there will be releases in other countries with alternative artwork - preferably focusing on the real star of the movie - Richard Parker :)

AMAZING NEWS, I CAN´T WAIT, out of the Oscar nominees this year for best picture collection we have already ARGO (Canada, México), LES MISÉRABLES (Canada, Best Buy USA), DJANGO UNCHAINED (Germany) and LIFE OF PI (UK) in steelbooks, YEY AND YEEEEEEY!!!!

I only see Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty as 2 other possibilities to come out on steel.

I like it, looks graet ... but thought the tiger would be pictured.... perhaps in another Country.

So here we go debating about cost when we are ready to pay double or triple the price for the exactly the same Steelbook sold in the Asian market or pay 30 EUR + shipping for the MediaMarket ones with German text and printed back. :naughty: :ohno:

Having said that, I am hoping this one to be priced under 20 quid.
