You might want to call your bank which issued your card and ask if maybe they are blocking any transaction outside the country. I know when I travel to other states, I have to call my bank fraud prevention department to let them know that there will be charges from outside my home state because of my travel.

I'll check into it.. Thanks for the suggestion perhaps I can make it work still :)

I was so impressed by this steel in Dec 2011 that I got two from JS with the sticker and one with a small bite out of the spine. This was the first of a few that I have ever doubled-up on.

It's pretty unbelievable they are still selling these. Turned the last 15 pages of this thread from being about a bunch of crybabies to a bunch of happy collectors. :p

I think the reason for it not being completely sold out is they did a 2nd print run as the first run had that error on the spine side. So that makes 8000 run split between Korea and Taiwan. It is one of the most amazing example of embossing on a steel to date.

That is incorrect - there is no second print run without the error. All of the steelbooks have the same error, even if you would order one today.

I think there was a second print run for the metal chip fix but that happened reasonably quick once the issue was reported. But this staying in stock for a long time might indicate a possible low print run or maybe JSDVD magically found many copies like Entertainment Store.EEK!

this is wrong i have both versions. they have also slightly different colour finish.

I ordered one from JSDVD to ship with another steel and they sent pictures that they all had a manufacturing defect on the spine:(
Great they let me know instead of just shipping it but i'll have to try to get the second run version from somewhere

I seem to recall the 2nd release with the sticker had corrected the spine error. There should be pictures of that release in this thread.

If that'd be the case, then how is it possible that JSDVD and Play-Asia still ship out the faulty versions only?

I have no idea honestly. Perhaps they shipped out the newer batch first and are now left with the copies with the error on the spine. Chip did mention the newer print run had a sticker on the front to differentiate it. I'm assuming these pictures by Researcher is of a 2nd print run copy.

I'm just assuming so since I think a defect would affect the entire batch.:D

That is not true. The non error version has a silver sticker on it from Taiwan. I think I know what I am talking about. Ive seen enough of them to tell the difference.
