Just got this message from JSDVD:

Notice:

Dear Customer,
Unfortunately the supplier cant prepare 100% faultless of the Lion King.
We need to let you know all of the items have tiny traces of green and red on the spine.
We also place the picture on our page.

Please let us know if you need replace items.

Shame, but it's a great looking steel, so might still go for it.

If you have not seen this steel in hand you will be amazed by the quality of the embossed debossed cover. I would not let the little imperfection stop you from getting one of the most beautiful steels of all times. Like I said before, all these steels no matter from which country has the same little imperfection. Once you see the rest of the steel you will not even notice. ;)

I'm sure it's an unbelievable looking steel but with the recent purchases I've made recently I might have to hold off for now. But the issue appears to be minor.

95% of lion king steelbooks have this. if you look at all the pictures on ebay they all have it. but most sellers dont declare it, so its very good of JSDVD to tell you before hand. the only version i know not to have it is the Chinese edition. I've never seen one of the other versions that hasnt got this problem, so i wouldnt let it bother you.

This is hands down the best Disney steelbook design I've ever seen. If it didn't have the Blu-Ray logo and 'The Lion King' logo above the circle it would have been absolutely perfect. Though I can't help but think this would have been even better as a wooden box (perhaps a square box). Disney made me love inanimate objects, now I blame them for my steelbook/digibook obsession.

Imagine similar designs for all the Disney classics. Of course, Beauty and the Beast shouldn't be a steelbook, it should be a stained glass case with a rose in the middle.

But hey, it's the disc inside that counts, right?

Have to agree with above, this is a fantastic looking steelbook and ordered one last week. Does anyone from the UK know the average delivery time from yesasia using standard delivery?

So JSDVD charges separate shipping just before the order is ready to go? How much is shipping to Europe (1 item)?

I think this would also look great as a Digibook with concept art inside. Oh, I would love a digibook with debossed cover and some great, detailed artwork.

Yes. And depends where in Europe and by which method, here's the website for rates:

May be worth ordering from YesAsia instead - I did.

YesAsia charge $52 for the item - free delivery - plus when you select standard delivery they also cover any customs charges! See the below link for confirmation:
http://www.yesasia.com/global/0-0-0-hti.886-en/question-answer.html

JSDVD charge NT$1030 + NT400 for shipping (assuming it works out to less than 500g in weight, which currently works out as $48.You then (I assume) would be liable for customs charges - probably around £6 and then the couriers fees as well.

is it possible that they put the korean or chinese steel in the slip of the taiwan version? couldn't explaine the different colours otherwise.

Thanks for the info! As I'm only planning on ordering one steel, I'll think I'll go with JSDVD. However, yesasia seem to be more predictable, especially with that refund thing they got going.

Yeah but with the entire spine covered by the Taiwan slip you can't even see it. I just went to look at mine to see if it had the imperfection and found that I couldn't because of the slip since its still sealed. So I would only worry about the imperfection if you're planning on opening it.

I've seen a few Taiwan edition and I can still see it as the slip don't cover the whole spine

Agree. The pic that was posted has visible green and red / pink coloration which is on still unopened steelbooks (3 of them!).. Having said that, it appears that most steels have them. I wouldn't be too bothered as my copy isn't for sale, and I'm not going to be OCD about this steel.

It's an absolute must have for anyone who is a Disney fan, a steelbook aficionado or both! :scat:

On a separate note, I don't mind ordering through either JSDVD or YA (unless its Skyfall JP). Both have shipped my steels in well packed boxes in the past. However, be aware that you should always put in a note while you place your order. JSDVD is probably a tad slower than YA to arrive.

Just got this in the mail from Yes Asia, only about a week and half to Chicago! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this steelbook and the embossing. Kinda upset with myslef that I didn't own this earlier and was content with the Best Buy Viva Metal.

Researcher, you hit the nail on the head... "It's an absolute must have for anyone who is a Disney fan, a steelbook aficionado or both!"

Gorgeous steelbook for incredible movie.

Edit: My copy does have the slight red/lime green marks on top and bottom of spine, hardly a deterrant from such a worthy steelbook!
