I wasn't planning on getting this film, but if Best Buy gets this Steel I am so in! I wish more Steelbooks were unique like this. A matte finish with debossed holes would be awesome, but this is still a welcomed change from the regurgitated movie art we always get. How is this unoriginal and lazy while while slapping the movie poster or DVD art is completely acceptable? In many cases less is more, in my opinion. This film is about simple soldiers caught in a horrible position. It doesn't need to be eye-catching and shiny. A soldier's life definitely isn't.

Target is getting the steelbook in the USA - this is an eOne steelbook in Canada.

See our thread for the Target edition here

Universal holds the USA rights. :)

I was thinking that when the artwork was revealed on this that I was going to have to 'Double Dip'. I've already preordered the US edition but since this is kind of MEH then I'm already set. I won't be getting this. EEK!

I actually rather like it, but the bilingual spine and the lack of debossing will probably push me towards the cheaper Target version (well, at least cheaper for me to get)

You cannot agree to produce this artwork and NOT have debossed bullet holes, it just doesn't add up! There must be a law against that kind of nonsense, if there ever was a steelbook in need of debossing this is it.

It is puzzling and disappointing, especially for a June 3 release, the greatest day of the year. :)bday::D)

I'm here. Frankly there isn't anything I can do. Normally the art is finalized before we even know we have the title. What we do as soon as we See the art is provide feedback and push on the studio to make corrections to their next Steelbook. The amount of control a retailer has on the art is basically 0, all we can do is send feedback to improve.

I like the overall look of this steel and the unique style of it. The inside I feel is very eye catching. I did really want deboss but the cost for e one was too high. I didn't like the captain Philips either.

I'm still a big supporter of FS steels and like you said the final decision the studio takes is out of your control. :)

We do appreciate the feedback and suggestions you pass along to them

Are those real bullet holes?

Disappointed about the bilingual spine but not surprised from eOne. Don't they see all the other SteelBooks sold in Canada from other studios with English spines? I think they are the only studio still doing bilingual spines in Canada.

if those dont get debossed then I may take out a drill and just drill them out .... lol seriously ... that might be kinda cool. Or suck..... ha. Might be worth trying to have fun. :naughty: But that is what is also pretty cool about SteelBooks is you can many times have a go at them yourself.
