Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

HMV now in administration said:
People should just be aware of 2 things:

1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund

2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Available to pre-order right now.
Release date: January 28, 2013

Watch this steelbook get de/embossed and then everyone's gunna' get in there to buy it, lol. Gotta' admit though the cover art is just "ok" but still nevertheless looks like a decent overall steelbook.

According to steelbook.com this will have a "zero finish", whatever that means... any idea Wreck?

Unfortunately, they don't mention any embossing/debossing on their site, which it looks like they usually do if a steelbook features it.

No inside artwork then?

I'm just going by the details they mention on their site mate. But it doesn't look like they say anything about interior art for any of their steelbooks (even ones that definitely have interior art), so I guess we still can't be sure about that one.

:hilarious:

Forum member Flip confirmed that "zero finish" means it will be a gloss finish. :oohyeah:

Confirmed? Guessed more like. I wouldn't trust information on the Steelbook website as it seems to be slightly confusing with Steelbooks having similar finishes yet being described differently on the website.

It's the official Steelbook site, so I'm pretty sure they know what they're talking about. Plus there isn't just one type of gloss finish anyway... there's all different types, just like there is with paints and varnishes etc.

I'm pretty sure they're using a range of terms that no one really understands. I'm not doubting that the information on their website is correct, but that it is confusing and that no-one knows what a 'zero finish' really is. What we don't want is people 'confirming' certain information on this site only for it to be incorrect when the Steelbook is released.
