Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

People should just be aware of 2 things:

1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund

2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Confirmed? Guessed more like. I wouldn't trust information on the Steelbook website as it seems to be slightly confusing with Steelbooks having similar finishes yet being described differently on the website.

Zero finish is as neutral finish - a blend of matt and gloss

Spot gloss is a mix of gloss and matt and is used to highlight certain areas in the artwork.

Thanks for the clarification. It's still confusing though as Dark Shadows is listed as 'spot gloss' but that Steelbook is as glossy as they come.

i agree it is confusing , once it's not a matte finish i think everybody will be happy

I don't know about ugliest of all time, but it's pretty hideous. It's amateurish, it's far too cluttered, the likenesses to at least 2 of the actors are way off (is that really supposed to be Emily Blunt??), and a stylish and smart movie like this just doesn't suit the cartoony GTA-style look. It really reminds me of the horrible stuff I used to knock out when I first discovered how to do montage in Photoshop. I'm just amazed the studio is allowing this when they already have some fantastic professional quality promo art to draw on. What a shame.

On the positive side - the back is nice.

Well, maybe because you live in the UK they arrive mint.

I live in Holland and have had multiple steels arrive damaged, ordering from HMV is always a gamble for me.

I mostly try to avoid it.

This looks awesome! HMV releases almost always sell out quickly despite the price tag. Then they go up in value relatively quickly? If the movie is good i'll start my pre-orders now, but I think Jason Statham would have made a better young Bruce Willis.

they're about 10 years apart haha, although joseph gordon levitt does look the part, probably because of all that makeup though

really I'm the opposite. I'm going fo rthis version over the Canadian version. I like the comic look to this. Also I have a sneaking feeling that if Canada gets this the US also get one. Although with the lenticular maybe the US is not set up yet for that

I'm SOOO glad Statham isn't the young Bruce Willis. JGL is so much better.

Watched this movie tonight with my brother and I really liked it. Glad I've joined biscuitnoir's GB for the FS version.
Have the HMV on order and I will probably keep that one too.

I like the steel a lot more then the FS one. This is so different then any regular steel. It's a very unique looking steel.
