Got a copy in my own hand right now and the steelbook is very nice like I thought. Its very detailed actually once you have it in hand and glossy. One of the best steel's released in 2012 IMO if you can get past the lenticular magnet.

Well here are some more pics I took on top of Marc's as if we needed more but Ill post anyways:

With Lenti-magnet:

I am torn again, I was going to get Ted and pass on this for awhile but I am not sure I want to spend $50 on Ted and this would be a lot cheaper, plus I love the look of this steel (could care less for that magnet thing I think look cheesy).

What they should do is either do like the germans do and debossed it and put the lenti in there or they should have a full slipcover over the steelbook. A regular slip or a lenticular would be nice.
Now that would have the possibility of blowing our minds!

Slips would not have done anything for me, I buy a steelbook to show off the steel, so I throw them out. Otherwise I may as well be collecting amarays with slips. IMO

I believe Ted is only temporarily unavailable from amazon.uk, so, I would get this first if you can because it's already sold out on futureshop's website. Ted should come back for less than $50 as well. Hopefully this will help your decision.

I still think its very lazy with the lenticular magnet just being placed on the front and no debossing to allow it to sit flush like the MM steelies from Germany

I agree. Thought this would be awesome but now just looks rushed. The magnet doesn't suit the cover AT ALL and will be a nightmare to slot between other Steelbooks on the shelf. And what's with Canadian Steelbooks and boring text on the back??? Very disappointed :(

Probably just stick with the HMV release. It's artwork is growing on me now compared to this.

IMHO, this Steelbook looks great without the lenticular magnet. The inside artwork is amongst the best I have seen. See how it shines through the plastic. Compare the inside artworkt with Terminator Play.com which looks abysmal.

Agreed, I'm gonna be tempted to stick the magnet inside like Jason B has in his pics above.

I fail to understand how anyone thinks this is a lazy effort. From the pics I have seen, I am loving this and cant wait to get mine. In my view you either get this or any of the other releases or settle for the regular blu-ray version.

It's a lazy effort, because it looks nothing like the original post.Tthis looks like they ran out of time, so they just threw the lenticular piece on the steel and bagged it. It's too bad, because the artwork is awesome. And it is going to be a PITA storage wise.

+1 This is what I was trying to say earlier. The lenticular magnet isn't even positioned straight under the shrinkwrap. Looks very rushed. Maybe they should've just left the magnet off altogether especially if people are going to store them inside the case. I mean what's the point? How many people stuck the German lenticular magnets inside the cases??

I agree, when I saw the first pics of this with the lenticular I was very disappointed but after seeing newer pics without the magnet I'm very pleased with the artwork. Glad I joined Drum's GB after all. :D

with the lenticular slip "roaming freely" in there,i think there's a very good possibility that over time, you will see an "imprint",some lines :ohno:from the slip on the actual steelbook itself since the sealed wrapping is keeping a 24-7 constant pressure between the slip and the case.it would've been better to have a real border like the media markt steels tp prevent this.i would be hesitant to buy this sealed after a year or so.it could be a very challenging effort to remove these "ghostly" lines underneath.so if you're keeping this stored sealed, just be aware.
as far as the execution of the steelbook, design aside,i believe you have to give this a thumbs up or a passing grade for sure since it covers all of the criteria you need for a released steelbook, clean front and back, inside cover, etc.
because of that, this should be fully supported by the steelbook community.
is it going down as one of my favs of all time? probably not but will definitely end up in my collection.
