Update 3/28/2011 appears on site again. It says "We'll send it when available", but they may ship sooner rather than later, or not at all. YMMV. Note this is an empty Sticker Steelbook, that was originally available for those that pre-ordered the Theatrical BD Set. However, at that point you could still order it at $7.50 separately, and then the price went up to $15.

So I went to BB today to look for a new phone since mine broke and I saw an advertisement on an endcap aisle way talking about the LOTR Trilogy "six disc steelbook casing"

Sorry I couldnt get a snap with my camera as like I said I was looking for a phone at the time.

Does a ship notification mean they will ship soon? Do they have more backordered? Or is it just in availability limbo? I ask because I'd want to order some Disney steels as well.

If you order a Disney steelbook it will most likely ship. They all say out of stock but it will ship in a day or two.

Smosef-yes-you'll order and then soon after the status will change. If it goes on backorder you'll be notified. Even still it may be a short time, and it will still ship as AP said. If it goes on backorder for any extended period of time, you'll get periodic updates that it's "still" on backorder. You'll usually have an option to cancel if you then no longer want it. Enjoy!

i just got myself one of these off ebay. i have to say im not impressed. its made by 'steelbook', but thats it. nothing about it feels like a steelbook. its mostly plastic with stickers on.
it feels so cheap! im now chasing the canadian version

I'll do the same with those Discs, that Warner called back in Germany because of the sound problems and the Async on Disc 6
They will send 6 new Blu's and you can keep the "old" ones...

He must have used the 6 discs of the movie only - the steelbook won't fit more than that.

Thanks! Also, how many discs does the case hold? And does it use an internal flap to hold some of the discs like the Monsters, Inc. jumbo Steel?

No problem. It holds 6 discs. The inside front and back hold a disc each, and the internal flap holds 4 discs.

In light of Source Code, I thought it may be helpful to bump some other stickered Steelbooks so new collectors could become familiar with the others that have been released. To find them yourself, go to "Search Forum" at upper right. Click "Advanced" , then search for keyword "Stickerbook" and choose "In Title Only".
