I don't see an horrible steelbook for the german ! Warner just chose to make metalic reflect (in the sky for exemple) but not on the characters. For me, it's better than the US steelbook (for the finitish, not for the 3D logo!). The US steelbook is a basic mat finish, without any effect.

It's not an intentional effect, it's just a result of them being stingy. The "effect" is not consistent in it's placement, it's not there on only carefully chosen parts. It's heavy on all parts with lighter color and slightly less noticeable on parts with darker color. I have a few steelbooks done this way and I find them just awful.

You're wrong. On the front, only the half- top has metallic effect, not the part with vehicles. But we don't see very well on the video. However for the back we see perfectly that the character has no metallic reflect, unlike the "yellow" arount him witch has reflect. Warner do like that in Europe.

Just get the Futurepak with full gloss finish for now and be happy or wait for the HDZeta release.

As usual another blockbuster sabotaged by the Studios for their first release. I am sure there will.be a re-release with a better finish.

Sorry the front looks shite.

Haha, okay :D Then why does the car on the back top left blend in with the background? Is it supposed to be see-through? Or why is only Max's face free of it, yet his body has the "effect" on most parts of it? Is his body transparent as well? I must have missed that in the film :) Look, I have no horse in the race here, I have no intention of changing anyone's mind or forcing my views on anyone.

If you like the colors and detains on this

I don't want to talk about what have reflect what have not, it's disputable. But when you said " It's heavy on all parts with lighter color", it's wrong, Warner chose the part whitch have less print, for having reflecting effect. Personnaly, I prefer a steelbook with effects as a basic 100% printed. And if you compare a photo with poor light and a photo with high light, for sur the steelbook with high light will be better..... Steelbooks with effects are better in hands (or in a good video). But anyway, some peoples prefer a type of finish, and other prefer an other type !
