Hmmmm...zavvi is offering a 30% refund for my damaged steelbook. A though one, since they don't have it in stock anymore.
If I return it they probably do a full refund. Anyone experience with returning damaged steelbooks?

If you say no to the partial refund they will let you return it for a full refund, they wont give you a replacement if they have no stock in (even if it does come back in stock between now and the time of your order gets to them). Even if you modify the packing slip to select replacement they will still refund

Thanks. I have asked for the partial refund.
Since the dent is at the bottom, but on the rear side, I can still display it without seeing the dent.

I´ve got mine today, luckily minty mint. Disappointed that Zavvi didn´t use their classic hard box though.

To the steelbook - I must say it looks pretty good in hand, much better than I thought, nice finish, nice embossing. Im gonna put it in my HDzeta B&C edition where it fits just perfectly :cigar:

I've received this steelbook, but unfortunately it has a dent on the front cover and two dents on the back cover. So I would like to get a full refund. Here you can see the two dents on the back cover, couldn't upload the picture with the dent on the front cover because the file size is too big.

Then I've contacted zavvi's customer support, and received the following answer:

Hi *****,

I’m really sorry to hear your order arrived damaged.

We have received your photos of the item and would like to apologise that the item was received this way.

If you would like to keep the item, we would be happy to offer a refund of 25%.

Once requested this would be returned to your account within 3-5 working days.

If there is anything else that we can do then please do not hesitate to get in touch and a member of our team will be happy to help.

Regards,

******

Obviously I want a full refund, there are also a few other flaws on the steelbook, which are not worth mentioning in my opinion, so I just wrote them about the two major flaws (dents). So is anyone here who already had experience with zavvi's customer service? Do I have to pay for the return shipping costs? Because shipping from Austria would probably cost a lot if I don't use a cheap bubble mailer option and even this could be expensive.

I'm not a specialist when it comes to Zavvi but they have told me in the past that if I would like to ship an item back to them due to damage (actually it was a loose disc - I didn't open it) that as far as the shipping cost is concerned, they could only refund 15% of the price paid for the steelbook.

The steelbook cost me $25.00 Canadian. So they would only refund $3.75 Canadian for the shipping.
It would have cost me $10.00 to ship it back.

So no they don't cover the full cost of shipping it back but they will refund the full amount of the steelbook.

Because mine was due to a loose disc, I decided just to keep it.

You may have better luck with them.

Zavvi always offer partial refund first with damaged items received and you keep the item it don't mean you cant get a full refund

You just reply your not interested in a partial refund and you want a full refund or replacement if available

As goods are damaged (Faulty) sale of goods act you can request a full refund and return damaged item
Zavvi are responsible to cover the postage cost for return that's standard postal cost not registered postal costs
If you want to send back using registered post you would be responsible for the extra postal costs

A loose disc is not considered faulty damaged item as it would be easily fixed when unsealed
A return of that nature would be considered unwanted item still sealed

It would only be considered damaged item if the disc hub was broken in regards to a loose disc or the disc itself was damaged

Hello all

Bit of clarity here - We were recently offered more Mad Max: Fury Road Black & Chrome SteelBooks from Warner. This is not a reprinting but leftover stock from the European run. These will have the standard UK discs and have no differences to the previous units.

Release: January 18th 2018
Price: £15.99

Thanks for the clarification, but why not offer them up sooner than Jan? Is it simply just the logistics of putting the discs in and re-printing the j-Cards or was it Warner asking for it to be held off until then?

@zavvi Can you also kindly confirm if it will in fact be January or will you suddenly change the date and debit accounts immediately? (Sorry but this has happened before). Just like to know the exact date in advance. Missed out on the last one because it went live 2 hours before you confirmed the time it would go live and sold out before i could order one. :cautious:
