another punch in the face for collectors of "limited" Steelbooks

Lol did Zavvi ever put out a press release saying this was limited to X number of steelbooks? I don't remember that, but I could be wrong.

Defo a kick in the balls for people who paid more than retail, but I'm happy this has a re-release. We should all be, so that people have a fair chance of getting a copy. Nothing worse than being a collector and having something you really want be missing from your collection.

FYI, I won't be buying. HDZ original is enough for me, I don't see the point of the chrome edition. The colours in the original movie are stunning

Gross to all those that paid top bucks for it.
To be fair to Zavvi, %90+ of buyers just don't understand the process of ordering the product from the makers (not Zavvi). The amount of comments made with buyers clearly shows a lack of understanding. If a "print" run of 2,000 is quoted, that is the initial commitment made between the supplier (Zavvi) and the maker (?). Then its down to pre-orders to secure the entire print run or not; trouble is, its only speculation at this point. So if only 1,000 pre-order, the company who "has" to commit and "pay" for the stock in question, makes a reduced quoter called a "batch", in this case, 1,000. Then to complicate things, buyers cancel (see this alot from fellow ninjas) and leave Zavvi with stock unpaid for and worse still, a warehouse full of unwanted stock. At this stage, a follow-on order for another "batch" is either made or declined according to sales demographics. To actually cancel or sell out of a product and then re-order more later on (zavvi monitoring comments/reactions) is not as simple as many think; time slots inbetween other orders, recalibration of equipment etc and so on. I could go on, but wont; Zavvi have hinted at this many times when they say they are trying to source more stock from suppliers ! Mass cancellations from buyers just securing a copy( or 2), and then changing their mind closer the release date does not help, followed by in hand pictures of the finished steelbook sending the same people and then some into "wish i had kept my order or ordered one in the first place" frame of mind !? Zavvi have done well with this release, actually securing more on your behalf and allowing people a chance (again) of owning a copy. Remember this about your orders, you don't pay for your steelbook in the beginning and can change your mind, the supplier can't ! And limits their potential loss by ordering in "batch's" ! Ps its a lovely steelbook by the way., especially when i drop a 3d & 4k disc in it.

According to Zavvi's direct response to me, they are another 1000 print run, The quality and j-card will be identical to the original. It's apparently part of the new European run, whatever that means.

I didn't ask for in depth explanation and all the ins and out. I said gross for those that paid top bucks for it lol. There is nothing worse than buying a steel for twice the price that goes OOS which then comes back in stock later.

Yep, I think we all need one of these:-

Now, how's about THE BURNING and FRIGHT NIGHT . . .

A blessing for those customers that received this message below from Zavvi . . . even better if those unfulfilled orders were not cancelled and still on Zavvi's system as copies from the new run are being sent out NOW to fill those orders
"Thank you for choosing to place your order with zavvi.com.
We're sorry to inform you that some or all of your order, number ******** has now been cancelled as Mad Max: Fury Road Black & Chrome Edition - Zavvi Exclusive Steelbook (Includes Colour Theatrical Cut) is no longer available. zavvi.com Customer Service Team"

Shouldn't be forgotten that when the 400 cancellations turned up they were all gone in a few hours

Also shouldn't be forgotten than despite the new run the number of MM B&C steelbooks released here in the U.K. is still pretty low - 2,000 + 1,000 - so still eminently collectable and apart from that it's a really interesting, even stunning steelbook in-hand with an incredibly unusual treatment - unique even (?) - and well worth picking up :naughty:

That was the short version ! Lol. i've done the same, bought elsewhere at a higher price only to find it reappear or a new re-release with a much nicer strawberry flavoured steelbook.

I'm not gonna ask the long version! :p

Sounds to me like it's going to become available in multiple countries....
I wonder when though? When this goes live when does it get released? Or Will it be a stock item?
Missed this first time around never knew about it till few months back when i seen it.
But wonder if amazon will have or here in australia.
Do zavvi take your money on pre order or when its out.

Zavvi charges you before they dispatch the item. Sometimes 2 hours before, sometimes 24 hours.

Could someone tell me if zavvi has an order limit?

You mean, like 1 per customer?

They've gone back and cancelled orders in the past if they felt like they needed to or wanted to - but I believe it's a manual process.

They don't stop the first orders from coming in.
