Only going by what I read buddy

Could you share with us where was this info on/where did you read it? Don't wanna doubt your word, but if if I (or anyone one else) want to contact Warner regarding this issue, a source would be good to have, to know if the are just making up an excuse or if it was indeed intentional to put that on MoS extras.

Can't post the link but on another forum it's been said that Warner have included this featurette on their new releases to promote Hobbit. I may be talking rubbish though :D

I've posted this in the Metal Tin Limited thread, but I guess it's interesting to spread this bit of info also here:

I'm the author of that screencap showing the Hobbit feature, and it comes from a full-bd copy that's been leaked to the usual torrent sites, together with the 3D disc. It's not clear if it comes from a spanish, french or italian source (at this point, it's not 100% confirmed the UK release will share the same disc), but after checking the authoring I'm quite confident this is not a russian/chinese manipulated disc.

I want to state this: this does not come directly from any official disc. Many of us will get our french copies quite soon, so until somebody else confirms it, take it as it is.

To prove those caps are actually mine, I've just made two more, showing the very same menu and another that I hadn't posted elsewhere before.

Is this the only 3D release not to have the '3D' emblazoned on the cover???

It would seem so but that could be the only positive thing about this release'
Doesn't look good for any real art work on the back (just plain) sadly judging by in hand pics of the Dutch version. Looks like a matte finish too I wanted them to spot gloss the 'S' I wouldn't mind it being matte then.

Yeah, I'm really disappointed with it too. In two minds wether to cancel or not. €30 for that lazy effort is hard to stomach :(

Hoping it might be around for a while and drop in price eventually. But 3D Steelbooks usually don't.......

Had this on order, but this release looks so damn bland WORLDWIDE, that I've cancelled, and forgoing a steelbook purchase in favor of the "S" Collector's edition from Amazon US.

Who feels the same way?

Kinda feel the same way, I ordered both this steel and collectors set lol. Ordered the steel first and can't be bothered cancelling.

Do you think the UK version will have the printed rating logo as well?

It won't have the BBFC or IRE rating if that's what you mean.

I think the last WB steelbook to have printed ratings was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. Certainly more recent efforts like the Batman releases, Dark Shadows, the white range and Wrath of the Titans haven't.

I'm still in two minds whether to cancel this or not as we're getting shafted on the extras yet again. The US seems to be the only country who are getting the MMM on the movie disc, whereas the UK gets it in the bloody UV code!

I don't know whether to cancel this and get the US 3D amaray, or keep this on order and then pick up the US 2D disc on the cheap next year
